About 6 weeks. The kits I've used so far have all been really good. I bought a barrel with a tap and you get around 40 pints. To be honest, I can't stand beer, but my OH likes ales and mild. There is cider in it at the moment and that is ok as well. ( I love cider!)
The longer it is left, the better it is. It says 3 weeks on the tin, but we found that 6 was better. He liked the stout I did the best so far.
The kits start at about £8 or so.
This is where I got the current lot, the last few before that I've bought from a seller on Ebay. I originally bought the barrel from a shopping channel 2 years ago.

Hmm, I didn't realise Trading Places (the film) had so many bare breasts in it before!Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.0

I've just gone        at Studio catalogue.
I ordered 2 items on 15 Oct, they arrived on 24 Oct. I received my first statement today dated 22 November saying my account was in arrears with a £20 admin fee
I've just phoned and said - how can an account be overdue when I only got the items (my first and definitely only order!) literally a month ago!
To make it even more mad, the statement number is number 3!!! I asked how I could have had 3 statements in less than a month when they send them every 28 days and this is the first I've received!!!
She was a bit ermmmmmmmm.........and took the £20 off. I paid the remaining £41 in full and I'm closing the a/c as soon as the payment clears. Bloody con merchants.
Right, now I'm in the right frame of mind I'm going to call that homebrew company about the damaged item and their lack of email response.

GGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR..................
My good god Keren29 - it seems like some huge scam going on ............... that happened to me and also my aunt - we got 'done' for loads of £20 admin fee's even though we never recived the statements - it makes my blood boil that it makes me look like I am bad with credit - I think I'm going to credit check myself as re-mortgaging in a few months and don't want this stinker attached to my files ....................0 -
Seems the film had an R rating in America (the same as our 18 rating). Years since I watched it, but I don't remember lots of nudity!!
that's a very random film to be watching HBFS!"Stay Wonky":D
