Welcome finance

Hi can anyone give me some advice please
I purchased a car on finance from welcome in 2005
This was purchased in joint names with my then partner
Ppi was Definitely taken out on the policy
I began a ppi claim back in may 2019, after so many weeks my ppi agent sent me a letter saying a joint policy had been found, if I couldn’t obtain the other party’s signature, which I couldn’t, then I could tick the box and claim on my own...so I returned my form and waited....it’s taken till yesterday for my agent to tell me that welcome are saying that even though the finance was in joint names the ppi was not? We both signed the agreement, the payments went through my bank account
I really don’t understand this? My claim has now been closed up but my agent did tell me that I could contact welcome to discuss this with them, he gave me a number which is constantly engaged
Does anyone know of an email or address for welcome? Is it even worth pursuing? My agent told me the dead line has passed now but if I can get some ‘proof’ then they will reopen my ppi case
My agent has not seen my agreement, does not know my agreement number...so surely welcome can just say as they like?
I’m very confused, I don’t know how this all works so any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you

It's very common for PPI to be in one bane only. Any complaint needs to come from your ex.
This 'agent' of yours. Do you mean you used a claims company? In which case, you can disregard anything he tells you as he won't have a clue about anything.

Agree with zx81, unless you have any proof to the contrary then this is a non starter I’m afraid.0
