New passport name change without enrolled deed poll

Hey,
I changed my surname after marriage (so did my wife) and I’m in the process of renewing my passport.
I got an application form from the local Post Office with a guidance book and with regards to proof of a name change, the following are mentioned:
Enrolled deed poll
Change of name deed signed in both your old and new names
I have not enrolled my deed poll. Is the second bit of evidence a deed poll that has not been enrolled?
Thanks.

Hyphen yours and your wife's?
-- use your marriage certificate
Or just picked a new one?
Does “change of deed name signed in both your old and new names” refer to a deed poll that has not been enrolled? It appears so because the deed poll mentions my former new and my current name.

I'm about to do this! Can you tell me if the Passport office accepted your deed poll or did it have to be an enrolled one please? The advice is so conflicting about this! Thank you!
An enrolled deed poll is more complicated process.
You don't need to do both, the change of name deed will suffice for getting a new passport.
