I’ve just applied for a Marcus account and received the following message after submitting my details:

Your application is being processed, please check back later

We're just reviewing the information you've given us and we'll get back to you soon.

Just wondered if this is standard?

When I applied for mine (about a year ago) I was refused - yes really!

The refusal email gave me a phone number so I called to find out why.

No explanation but they then opened the account anyway so all good.

It seems to be a rather variable opening process but when you get there the account is faultless.

I never got that message, looks like they have made a change to the registration process.

Nothing to sweat about, you'll love banking with them. Make sure you only transfer money from the linked account.

Account opened just before lunch, just had to agree to some updated terms, wonder if this is just the new norm?
