I am wondering if you can advise me, whilst looking on my banking it advised me that I had a CCJ against me.
As I was unaware of this I paid an online website to check my file and discovered this was correct. I rang the court that has issued the CCJ and they advised me this was for a parking fine issued in November 2017 at a local supermarket issued by the company ‘Civil Enforcement’. They issued the CCJ in July 2018 after apparently sending me a letter advising me of this in June 2018.
I do remember receiving the original letter with the fine in 2017 but after reading lots of forums I was advised to ignore this fine.
They have advised me there is nothing I can do other than pay the £345.00 fine to the court but this will then stay on my file for 6 years or appeal the CCJ and pay the court £255 to do this.
Is there any other way I can appeal this, I did not receive any letters informing me that I A) was being taken to court and
then had a CCJ against my name.
I am happy to pay the original fine and I understand I should have now paid this, but the fine of £345 is steep to say I didn’t receive any letters informing me of this.
I am just looking for some advise on how I can proceed with this?

Too late for any appeals , nobody has mentioned appealing it , or they lied !!
The £255 is to set it aside and then contest the original case by defending
There are plenty of CCJ threads on here plus post #2 of the newbies faq sticky thread near the top of the forum , why have you not read those ??
You can pay £100 for an uncontested set aside , with the claimant's consent , and pay everything
Or
A contested set aside by paying £255 and filling in the form
Stop looking for an easy way out , there isn't one
Ps , there is no fine of £355. , It's a Judgment by the court , where that figure is the total , composed of the original PCN of say £100 , plus court costs etc0 -

Did you miss the entire section about 'setting aside a CCJ' in the NEWBIES sticky thread, and also miss all the threads successfully setting them aside every month here? Most are about Civil Enforcement and the first thing to do is tell them they didn't serve their claim properly and will they CONSENT to a set aside due to their failure, so you can defend the case?
DO NOT OFFER TO PAY THEM MONEY.
PLEASE READ OTHER SET ASIDE THREADS BEFORE POSTING, AS IT HELPS US!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks, however after reading the other threads all i can see is cases where people have moved addresses and the letters were not sent to their new address.
I received initial letters threatening me they might take me to court but i didn't receive any forms advising me they were actually taking me to court and I have not moved house.
Sorry, I am new to this and very upset as I have no idea where i stand and how to proceed so just needing a push in the right direction0 -
The CCBC send the forms out , not the parking company , so you should have received several letters from them , I suggest you check with them using the CCJ reference and see where they sent them and when and who to ? Ask for emailed copies so you can check
Also get your V5C out and double check your name and address are correct on it
You have to be like Poirot on this , to find out why no court papers were received from the CCBC in Northampton
If you ignored those letters , then that was your error and it's almost impossible to fix it due to ignoring official government papers
But if it was the wrong name or address that they went to , then the error is not your fault
Bear in mind there are a lot of missing or ignored letters here , from different sources
To fix an error or fault , you first have to find it , so start with the CCBC0 -
At min you woul dhave 2 items of missing Court post:
- claim form
- notification of default judgement
Either way, you need to get on with htis. Thereis ONE WAY and ONE WAY ONLY to get this off your credit file, and that is the set aside process.0
