I use chromebooks and all of a sudden I'm getting a message, whenever I try to click on something, saying "could not open window. If you have a pop up blocker installed, please make sure it is disabled"
Never had a problem before today. Before one hour ago, actually! I have never installed a pop up blocker and no one else would have either as I'm the only one with access to my computer.
I'd be really grateful for any advice on how I can get back to clicking on things without getting this message!
I noticed it for the first time within an email from ebay - the email was about an item I was bidding on. Usually I click on the links but this time - nothing. Same with any other links.

I use a CB and have no such problem, and I do have an ad blocker installed ( Ublock Origin )
Does this apply to links in emails only ?
Are you using apps as well as extensions, if so have you gone through them all to see if something has installed without your knowledge0 -
Mikey17 - I don't think I have any apps on here. I have installed ad blockers, but they've been there since I've had the chromebook, and as I say. this problem only began today so it surely can't be them?
Yes, so far it seems to be links in emails only. So, they email from the library informing me my books need to be renewed; can't just click on the link as usual to renew them.0 -
Maybe it's something to do with AOL?? (just thinking as it's only happening with emails...)0

Think I may have just solved it. Went into settings and saw an option for pop ups and as it was on 'blocked', changed it. Though I'm still confused as this must always have been on 'blocked'. And I don't really want random pop ups.0

Mines on blocked too. I assume your email link problem is with gmail. As well as gmail I use the outlook app which has recently completely broken.
If your problem returns and you cannot get a solution here there is an excellent chromeos forum at reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/chromeos/0
