Smart Meter issue with connection

I am currently on the old style Smart Meters (waiting on new supplier to upgrade us) and we had an electric trip last week. Since then, my British Gas Monitor says that it is trying to connect to the meter and on the meter the HAN light has gone from green to flashing amber.
I have tried googling the issue, but I can't seem to find help anywhere. British Gas installed the Meter last year but we are no longer with them. Their website is hopeless and so is their Customer Service (because I am no longer a customer, they can't help me!).
So I am currently without a working monitor and possibly a meter as well until Octopus install my upgraded meter.
Can anyone help me solve this issue as it is currently driving me insane!

Providing the display works on both the gas & leccy meters themselves you can just read the meter rather than faffing around with the IHD. The HAN is only to enable them to communicate with each other and the IHD, they still work as meters
As you say, BG dont care anymore, it's not their problem since you left them so you either have to wait for you new supplier to sort it out or for them to upgrade, enroll or replace the metersNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
If your with Octo!!!!! they will probably e-mail you with a reading request once a month anyway . Just give them the figures and in time things will get sorted. Chill !0

Thanks for the replies. Good to know the meter is still working. I submitted my meter reading to Octupus and they have issued my new statement. So I guess I’ll just have to live without the monitor for now.0
