Solution to Parcelforce re-delivery problem

Advice to anyone wanting Parcelforce to redeliver a parcel which the driver has left at a local post office for you to collect yourself.
Sometimes it seems that the Parcelforce delivery driver chooses to take my parcel to a local post office instead of leaving it in the van for re-delivery the following day, which he could choose to do. Sometimes he also writes down the tracking number wrongly on the courtesy slip.
If this happens to you, and, if you would rather not take a trip down to the Post Office, you could try phoning them on 0344 800 4466 to arrange a re-delivery. They may not answer the call, however, so you will need to get the correct tracking number from the sender, whom should be made aware of the inconvenience caused by the Parcelforce driver’s double oversight.
Now you have the tracking number you can book a re-delivery online. I noticed that they want to charge you for this, but you can choose a delivery time slot which is deemed free of charge. Search for parcelforce.com/redelivery# and enter your details.
I was quite angry about this an hour ago, so I channelled this frustration into creating a reminder of what I did this time so I can avoid such annoyance in future. I hope others can benefit by avoiding the runaround from the so called “help pages”
Recap.
1
ask the sender for the tracking number
2
use Parcelforce website. Search for
parcelforce.com/redelivery# (copy/paste parcelforce.com/redelivery# into browser search bar)
Apologies for not providing the full urls for the Parcelforce website page

Update
Still not received parcel, Tracking shows no activity since the 14th Jan. So I have arranged another delivery for tomorrow the 23rd Jan.
It seems that the company doesnt like to be inconvenienced by re-deliveries either. But we'll see if they honour their obligation this time.0 -
Did not arrive so I have cancelled the order. Very disappointing. I may now decide to use a supplier who chooses another courier firm.
I apologise for using the word solution in the title, I clearly got it wrong there, but cant edit it.0 -

If the parcel is left at the post office they won't redeliver - the driver would have to go to the post office, collect the parcel then bring it to you - or possibly go to the post office, collect the parcel, return it to the depot, then bring it to you the next day... not something their route planning can accommodate.
The parcelforce redelivery option is only available if it's held at the parcelforce depot - not the post office, and not the Royal Mail delivery depot.
Where the parcel can be left and if multiple deliveries are attempted/ redelivery can be arranged is down to the service the seller paid for...
In the spirit of DIY/home improvement - I've got one of these - which doesn't solve ALL delivery issues, but could be called 'a' solution :cool:That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

I do actually have a solution, I have a secure metal box that delivery drivers can lock - they love it and it saves a load of hassle for them and me. Mine wasn't cheap - £2-300 but its quite large, available online.0

So much can be torn apart.
Lets start from your opening post.

TBF - my regular parcel force guy is a lovely bloke called Mark... who occasionally rants to me about people who aren't in when they've ordered things... hence my post above *cough*
I am well aware this is indicative of me buying too much !!!! on tinternetsThat sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
