The date of issue is 12 Feb 2020, so effective issue date 17 Feb 2020, so I make 18th March the day I have to submit my defence by.As long as you didn't do the AOS too early (earlier than day 5). I make your date Monday 16th March at the latest.3) Have you sent a SAR yet to the PPC? You would get all the pictures etc they hold on you.By reading the NEWBIES thread second post about court stage and a SAR.
I have not - how would I go about doing that?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Extremely frustratingly, the AOS did not register properly with the online system, and a judgement was issued against me. So that leaves me with a £240 fine to pay, and a CCJ on my record until it's struck off. Excellent.I also have the option of asking for the judgement to be set aside, but that could take 4-6 weeks, and would lead to the CCJ becoming permanent, as it would not have been paid within the calendar month.Another option that presents itself now is that I can go about issuing a claim against the parking company on the basis that there was an overcharge of £60. It will cost me £25 to issue the claim. The question is, is it actually worth attempting? My gut instinct is no, but I would welcome any advice any of you extremely knowledgeable people may be able to give.Rose0

Odd. We have never, ever seen that before. The confirmation screen showed I assume?
Do you have any proof you submitted the AOS in time? Yes or No.
If NO then pay up. If YES then CALL THE CCBC and show this to them.0 -
If you pay the judgment amount BEFORE the deadline expires, the CCJ will not affect you; it will be as if it never existed.0

@nosferatu1001 I don't think i have any confirmation I submitted it on time. In which case, I'll pay up and learn my lesson!Proof, proof, proof. Evidence, evidence, evidence.
And (trying to look on the bright side) it's a relatively inexpensive lesson to learn. Just eminently avoidable! Thanks everyone for your help.0 -
You told us on 4 March at 5:47PM -2) Yes, I have acknowledged the claim online
Then surely your MCOL Claim History confirms that.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
