What utter madness if that is true, and a ludicrous waste of taxpayers' money.

Every single one will be badly photographed by idiots who think Double Yellow lines mean 'no stopping' (LOL) and I predict ALL of them will be very appealable. Pepipoo posters will have a field day appealing and winning them all for people who go to that forum, where the Council PCN experts hang out.

Self ticketing is rife for abuse. A stupid idea that needs reigning in, not extending.

And guess what (for anyone reading this who doesn't know) collecting from any adjacent premises or dropping off kids and taking the straight into school premises means a driver can legitimately use Double Yellows (safely and not near junctions) for up to 20 mins for 'assisted boarding and alighting' despite popular ignorance of that fact.

And Councils provide DYL for that very purpose, among other exemptions.

I predict lots of bad photos of people who are doing 'exempt' things like loading/unloading, and taking children or disabled passengers into nearby buildings, and pics of people legitimately parked with Blue Badges on yellow lines, as they can.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I predict that I will leave this planet courtesy of bad parkers outside the local Tesco Express. I would like to Norris the lot of 'em. But I won't.

Double yellows on the main road on which they park - I thought parking on double yellows to shop was an offence, gawd, I hope it is.

At a junction of 3 roads. There is a traffic island but come the evening the parked cars mean that you can't access it without walking into the road to lean out and see what's coming. There is no way that the majority of parkers have any physical disabilities or passengers with same. Pedestrians instinctively join forces to make the dash, I guess it's one way to meet people.

I'm not endorsing self-ticketing. But the police, the council, any authority are nowhere to be seen. People park so selfishly and drive like maniacs round here. There are limits to my sympathy for motorists.
  • I’m 50/50 on this on , on one hand if people take five minutes to think how they park especially around schools then that’s only a good thing , however I can see a lot of people spending a lot of time reporting every little incident.

A quick google says you can’t park on double yellow lines unless you have a blue badge ( time limited to 3 hrs I believe) however you can stop to load / unload .

You can aso stop to embark/disembark passengers.

As for the traffic island, a fe wbent back wing mirrors on the passenger side might get their attention.

What ever the rights or wrongs of parking enforcement, giving any old untrained, vindictive, ill informed, know it all Norris money to report their idea of parking violations just because they have a mobile Phone app is frankly ridiculous IMO.
  • if this happened in my town and they paid the people sending info to the councils , I think a request would go in to show counsel spending along with full names and addresses of all paid

I feel that when published on local facebook page , police would be needed
