bank account application no overdraft

Hello. Does HSBC run a full credit check if one applies for their Advance bank account and requests no (£0) overdraft? Thank you.

Yes they do. As you can go into an unauthorised overdraft, they treat your application as an application for credit. You can't request 'no overdraft', you can just not apply for one (there's a subtle difference).

Thanks, that's helpful. I guess that's what I meant, not applying for overdraft.
I'm not worried, I'm just curious.
