Hello
Hit windy today but fortunately not a storm here
Dentist says I have an abscess. Have got antibiotics to hopefully avoid an extraction. I hope they work as I'm fast running out of teeth at that side!.
No medical appointments for either of us today. Shall enjoy the mundane.
Nelski. Your rocky road idea nudged my memory. I don't like marshmallows, but I could make tiffin with our left over biscuits. Nice and easy. Thank you.
TA. The name Sparkle sounds very cheerful. I'm glad you've decided to keep it.
Have a good day. Not too blowy hopefully0 -

DS walked the girls this morning as i was still sleeping as i seem to have a rotten cough first thing so managed a lie in, it doesnt seem as windy as last night but looks like rain
Please let me know where to send the cheque to secure DM's place on the charabanc trip if she could have a seat near the toilet I am willing to pay extra in fact i am willing to pay extra just to ensure she gets a seat:D
This mornings text has informed me that she has lost her tartan rug and has looked everywhere and to remind her when i speak to her later I fear she has a theory on who has stolen this:o
Right i have a man coming to look at the small window as it has blown and he does repairs so a lot cheaper than a new one .
Happycas ouch hope the antibiotics kick in soon
Tru reminds me of when my children were younger and I used to do a party food /nibbles tea on a saturday night and all curl up with a film
TA Roll on Friday when Sparkle comes home she sounds like she is going to have a great life x
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to xSlava Ukraini0 -
Morning everyone and thanks for starting nmlc.
DGS is better today so he's gone to school & my services are not requiredThe bin men are just doing their recycling collection so I'll nip out in a min and put them away before it rains again.
I'm hoping the heating engineer will come this afternoon and restore a bit of warmth, its ok downstairs with the burner on but upstairs is cold & DS1 who spends a lot of time up there keeps coming down to get warm.
Last night we had the leftover curry from Sat. ( not the rice though - I did fresh) so that was easy, tonight I've got leftover turkey etc from the freezer.
I wanted to do a bit more sewing really, but might leave it until the heating man has been, my machine is in our bedroom. I made a bed for pooch to go under the table, she feels safe under there, used half a single duvet that DGD didnt like ( it was a cheapo one and the casing was stiff, )but the actual filling when I dismantled it is lovely and soft- covered it with fleece and she's happily snoozing on it now
Wishing you all a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Good Morning chums ,golly its black as Newgate's Knocker out there, a nasty looking day ahead as well wet, windy and nippy also. I don't have to go out until after lunch though and then only round to DDs to try and persuade her two small dogs that it would be a good idea to get turfed out into the garden for their ablutions and necessary watering of her lawn
Thats going to be fun ,not One is a Jack Russell and she isn't too bad but looks so sad once she has bounded outside and realises it bucketing down, where as the other one is a Westie and looks at me with total distain as though to say 'You want me to go out in THAT' He has a thick fur coat as well which the little Jack Russell doesn't
:):)
It take deviousness and downright cunning to get him outside even when its not raining as he is the laziest dog in Kent
Well the boys are back at Uni and Ben is back at his house in London so I am down to young Mikey only now.He is revising like mad for his GCSEs in the spring so apart from feeding him a snack when he comes in he is rarely seen outside his bedroom. But he still likes to know there is someone in when he gets home from school. I might make him some choco chip cookies this morning as although like all boys, he argues with his siblings he does miss them when they have gone off to Uni .
Its quiz night tonight, so no cooking for me as I get fed there, but I will have a little jacket spud with a bit of rocket salad at lunchtime to keep me going .
Hope everyone is safe and warm and dry indoors, almost halfway through January at least and I look forward to the spring and the daffodils poking their heads up in my flower pots
I got some decent books from the library yesterday after book club so tucked up this afternoon on the sofa at DDs with a cuppa and a good read sounds like a great way to spend a wet and windy winters day.
Have a good day chums whatever you are doing stay dry if you can

Morning all, it's the calm after the storm here. But it appears that it's all due back around tea time.
I hope the bins get emptied before it starts again as we both got soaked putting them out last night. Unfortunately it's a 3 lorry job this week and they can come anytime between 7am and 4pm.
Today I have a few tasks that need to be done, they have been put to one side as they weren't absolutely necessary, but now it's time to tackle them. It's mostly putting things away in their correct places and sorting out the store cupboards. Seems someone has been rummaging in the latter and I can't find anything now. I'm afraid to open the doorsThat's me told off then :rotfl:. I need to make a list of stock contents too :j Yeah !! I love a list !!
We started back on the diet seriously yesterday, so I need to know what we have in food wise. I'm already working off a freezer list...... that's a first for me . So we're down to smaller portions again ( the size has crept up over xmas) so tea tonight will be HM curry from the freezer and boiled rice. I will make a slow cooker beef casserole later too ready for tomorrow. Mr Fix It has an oncology appointment tomorrow and who knows how long that will take and we will probably need comfort food after it.
There are a few items in the ironing basket that needs my attention, but there's nothing than can't wait til later in the week.
Right enough wittering from me. If I don't return sometime tomorrow, I'm buried under tins and packets from the cupboard :rotfl:
Take care all and stay safe.

Morning, bad night again last night, OH settled down to sleep and then sat up and said 'I cannot get to sleep' so on went the light, it was almost 2am when the light went out again. So it was a late start. Fortunately we have nothing on this week, so can take our time.
The usual day after the medication day for me, feel lousy, I know it will pass but its the time I feel ill thats the problem. I am sure this should not be happening, so I will be going to see the Dr again.
Cleaner due tomorrow.......so will strip the bed and also turn the mattress.
The wind was bed yesterday, bins flying all over the place, at least the new shed is well weighted down and did not shift an inch. There is still a fair wind this morning.
Not sure whats for supper, could be stew could be fish, will see what OH fancies.0 -
SpekySquarehead wrote: »Morning everyone,
Left work sharpish yesterday and was on the phone to my step-dad for an hour before I had to leave the flat again to get to yoga. Got home afterwards and went straight to my bed.
A new years resolution of mine us to go to the gym more consistently in the morning, allowing myself 1 duvet day a month, which I used this morning as I was shattered. Dozed for a couple of hours before getting up and having breakfast for a change. I think I need to leave work pretty sharp again today as I've got a training day with The Reserves. Not too sure what to expect but I'm told it's a classroom environment so shouldn't be too bad.
Just notice that e.on have charged me £150. I recently switched from them to BG and I'm confused as to why this may be? Cancellation charge? Had I been underpaying? Need to phone them
Happycas - The jobs are dotted all over, but none are in Scotland. Most are in London, some others in cities around England and 2 are in America. We'll see.
Hiya SpekySquarehead,
Thought I may be able to help with this, to save you a call.
As you've changed supplier, we would produce a final bill, this is done after your new supplier has sent us some readings.
A couple of things to check, do the start reads with the new supplier match the final reads we've used?
Were you in a contract? If so you would be protected by the price protection window. With our fixed tariffs, the Price Protection window is open 49 calendar days before the tariff end date until 20 working days after. Provided we're told, we'll keep you on the cheaper prices whilst a change of supplier goes through. Exit fees also don't apply whilst in this window.
Were previous bill under estimated? If they were it may be that now we've received some accurate reads it caused a bit of a catch up bill.
I do hope this helps a bit, but if you need some help, please let me know.
