zanussi condenser dryer-belt broke?

hi all, zanussi dryer drum wont turn over.man has just been and said the belt has gone and it will cost £80 to fix .i don't think it is worth paying .which dryer condenser or vented is the best in the cheap price range please? thank you.

get a new belt and put it on yourself ???????????
turn off and unplug the appliance before doing it !!!!!!!!!!

the repair man said it would be too hard to repair belt myself because it is a condenser dryer,although he is bound to say that ,lol.is it a big job or could my hubby attempt it? thanks

It is a fiddly job that will mean removing the panels of your tumble drier (Had to remove most mine on a Creda) to expose the drum but can easily be completed by your hubby. I am not the most technical person but succeded in completing the job in less than an hour. A new belt will be £10-20 from your local electrical shop, maybe even less if you go for a non-branded one. Take your make and model number down to him/her, and they will be able to source you one. If not PM me and I'll post you one (I sell them everyday).

Get your chap to take the panels off (only a couple of bolts usually, nothing too taxing) and at least get him to take a look before you buy a whole new dryer.:money:
