Good morning
Grey here but not raining and no wind so that's a bonus. I don't know when I last pegged clothes on the whirligig. It will have seized up.
Talking of seized up, it's yoga this morning. I'm still feeling very stiff, especially my shoulders, so I hope it will help.
And then dentist. Of course, since I made the appointment, the pain is nowhere near as bad, but still very ouchy if I forget and bite on it.
Speky, where are the jobs you are applying for? Back home, near where you are? Or will you be on your travels again?
Right, better get togged up for yoga.
Have a good day all0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
It's a bright morning here and Lee has just left for college. Steve is still snoring away as he didn't come to bed until 4am as he got carried away with his new computer game. I will leave him till 10am but then I will have to get him up as I need help to get washed and dressed.
Steve told me last night that his friend and new partner are coming to see us on Friday and they are going to be staying in a hotel just down the road for the weekend. This friend is an ex boyfriend of mine and it always feels a bit awkward but it will be nice to meet his new girlfriend especially since his wife was tragically killed a couple of years ago. I hope he is happy, he is a lovely guy.
I was going to be making some more cards today but I have a visitor coming over to see me. I hope they don't stay too long as I am quite tired already and will want a nap in the afternoon. I don't know if it is the new painkillers or what but I am permanently shattered. Hopefully I will get used to them soon. Gosh I sound ungrateful but I didn't want this person to come really and I feel a bit railroaded into having her here. If she starts any nonsense I will know not to have her visit again.
Right, I need a drink and I need to let the poor dogs out for a wee so I will disappear for now. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Morning all
Girls walked and only one fed as one has a bit of a dicky tummy so will give her some scrambled eggs tonight .
TA a new addition to the family welcome sparkle.
R Ruby your a better woman than me i wouldn't have been able to hold my temper well done to your DD for standing her ground.
Nels Fingers crossed you hear about the job soon
Jackie I hope mum and baby are doing well
I know someone has a DGD in hospital with a feeding tube just cant remember who but I hope little one is doing ok
Well mother is being her usual trouble making self DD2 was here last week and I was calling mum 3 times a day as she had a chest infection so she didn't phone mum on her usual day but spoke to her on friday as my mum was moaning cue a text the next day to DD telling her how disappointed she was and that she had seen no one for 8 days and only spoken to 2 people on the phone the thing is DD would have gone over but as a chemo giver she cannot afford to be unwell or pick anything up all explained to mum . Mum came for sunday lunch she felt a bit betternow this morning i have got up to a text saying how disappointed she is we won't be visiting DD2 as soon as she moves to her new house with her new husband they don't live together due to army regulations so DD has said they just want some time alone at first I get it but not my mum she tells me how excited she was when she had her own parents to stay at their first home I am slowly getting worn down by her demanding ways and her no filter comments that she denies later . Sorry rant over x
Right I better get on need to go to the tip and do the Monday clean . Have a good day whatever you are up to xxSlava Ukraini0 -
Bella sorry you are having ongoing problems with your Mother, mine was a nightmare, I divorced her in the end!!
Fine morning but blooming cold, load of whites in the washer, think they will be going in the dryer. After strong winds over the weekend its hardly blowing at all.
Plan for last night supper had to be changed.....although dated date out today the chicken was off, I smelt it as soon as I took it out of the bag. So its bagged up and spent the night in the coal house, will be going back today. I had pork in the freezer so we had that instead. That is the second chicken I have had that was off from Aldi, will not be buying anymore.......frozen from Morrison it will be from now on.
OH is off to his club this afternoon, I will drop him off and then go to Aldi and onwards to DD2's for a cuppa and a chat.
Just a question, does anyone else think that MM looks like the Duchess of Windsor? and they say lightening never strikes twice. That all I am saying on the situation that seems to be gripping the nation just now.
No idea whats for supper, it was to have been something chicken......not now though....will have to put my thinking cap on.0 -
Morning all ,
We were woken earlier this morning with DGS Mummy asking if he could come here as he's a bit under the weather so a bit of a scramble to get washed and dressed - DH alarm is set a little later in winter, can't really do building work when its still dark.
Still no heating but hopefully someone is coming tomorrow. Log burner lit, don't want DGS getting cold ( or me)
I was meant to be meeting a friend this afternoon so I'll have to ring her in a bit to cancel. Don't like doing that but I did see her last week.
Yesterday we went to see our friends, not seen them since NYE due to DH lurgy, so asked them up for next Sat for a postponed meal. Won't be a Xmas meal though :rotfl:
TA - Sparkle sounds ideal & I hope you have lots of pleasure from her:T
Csarina- the friends we saw yesterday have just had the same issue last week with a chicken from there.
Hope you all have a lovely day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning everyone
Bellabella - I have the little granddaughter in hospital - I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets mixed up with what everyone's doing and who belongs to who!
Nothing to report really - she's still being tube fed into her stomach and still being sick. DD is hoping her consultant will arrange to put a camera inside her today. I plan to go on Wednesday as I'm not working.
Fine here at the moment so I've got bedding in from eldest DDs stay - hopefully will dry a bit outside. It's forecast to be stormy again later.
hope everyone has a good day0 -
Moring all. My plan last night was to go to bed early [ish...] and get up early. Didn't work. As of today I'm back on the diet, caught sight of myself last night in the hall mirror, I looked like a bloody beachball....
Anyway, didn't post at the weekend because I didn't do an awful lot Saturday. Yesterday I chopped three bags of kindling, washed, waxed and polished the thing in the hall, steam cleaned the cooker, tiles next to the cooker, the floor underneath the cooker and the side of the washing machine. And now it sparkles.
Cat is being annoying, he's bored but he won't go out. so he's eaten more cardboard box and discovered where I hid the flying toy...it's like having a toddler in the house. I gave in, I chucked him out after he started dragging himself along the sofa with his claws...
Plans today are see what's in the freezers, make a list of the main things and work out what's missing, if anything and make a rough and ready meal plan. Today is going to be homemade meatballs in a tomato based sauce of some kind with some veg or some coleslaw.
ruby, think it may be time for less subtle measures..TA, she sounds lovely, and don't feel guilty. If the lady wanted to keep her you wouldn't have been offered adoption...Nelski, fortitude for lots of things going on! bella, had to read your post a few times to work out who was whoand I have never ever heard of anyone wanting thir parents come to stay in their new house when they first move in. Methinks she is either fibbing or just a little bit weird....dumpling, you're allowed to say no...one two three, deep breath...Noooooo...see? easy!
You have a ready made excuse after your hospitalisation last year to refuse any visitors you don't want, just say you're not feeling up to it thank you. Maybe next month....on that theme, camelot, just say no! I'm hoping I gain some solidarity thinking with you
Gers, hope your mum was Ok after her news, it's easy to forget with an ongoing condition that it's going to get worse sometimes...enjoy your peaceful day...Hey all reading along, Managing Monday!

Window cleaner been and gone, he's really good about moving stuff around. Now the storm is beginning to make the trees shake, already the wind is howling around the building.
I've cleared out a whole load of 'stuff' from this bedroom, it seems to accumulate without any help! There's a couple of spreadsheets to update and then I'm going to settle down with a book. I'm trying really hard to not buy the newest book in a series I've been reading, it's only out in hardback and I will not give in.:)0 -
Hello all, sorry I'm a bit late ...... again !
Yesterday Dad was excited about his new cleaner and now I know all about her and her family. I even know where her grandmother was born !......... and she hasn't even started yet
Today we have been to my surgery to put in my script and for me to make an appointment for a medication review. The appointment is not til Feb, it's been due since Nov and this new service was supposed to speed up the appointments ?
Anyway we went on to the garden centre for coffee and then check out their sales...... only some xmas bits left, so we bought nothing :j.
Rant alert !
I needed bread and milk so we called in Morries and spent £50 . I should have left Mr Fix It in the car, he was putting stuff in the trolley like a whirling dervish ! :rotfl:. I don't normally go there but it was on the way home. It was very busy with checkout queues down the aisles and at least 10 people waiting at each self service till. I complained that there were only 3 checkouts open and got a shrug of the shoulders reply .
Looks like the storm has started here as we have high winds and it's so dark indoors that we need the light on ! As it's bin day tomorrow I expect all the recycling will be all over the road tonight.
I shall have another coffee and then put the rest of the shopping away, I've already done the fridge stuff.
Bella shall we add your mother to the "one way trip" charabanc ? My Dad's on it already along with Nelski's DMRant away lovely you are not alone.
Nelskinow, now think positive thoughts about the work. Repeat " I will get it, I will get it " and that's an order from your head cheerleader :rotfl:
TA Sparkle sounds lovely. I'm sure she will soon fall in love with you :happyhear You sound smitten already
Happycas hope the dentist solves your pain problem.
Speky fingers crossed for the new position if it's suitable to you.
Apologies if I've missed anyone out, I can't remember who else I wanted to reply to. I blame it on this medication. I can blame a lot of things on this medication
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.
nan xx
PS Nelski I've had the email and all sorted - I hope !Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
