Hotels in Beijing & Xi'an

I'm going to stay with my brother in Shanghai over Easter and we're thinking of taking 3 nights in Beijing to see the Forbidden City and the Great Wall before travelling onto Xi'an to see the Terracotta Warriors staying there for 2 nights before probably flying back to Shanghai.
Can anyone recommend any hotels in Beijing or Xi'an? We'd like to be fairly Central. Also we'd like rooms with a window ideally looking out onto the city (when my brother booked Beijing for him and a friend the bedrooms didn't have windows).
