Iberia Express and Air Nostrum?

Hi,

I would like to go from Manchester to Casablanca. It is much more expensive to fly direct from MAN- CAS. Hence the option below.

Using Iberia website, it displays the following:

11:05 14:40
Manchester(MAN) - Madrid Adolfo Suarez-Barajas(MAD)
Operated by Iberia Express
- Long connection time: 2h 10min.

16:50 18:40
Madrid Adolfo Suarez-Barajas(MAD) - Casablanca Mohammed V(CMN)
Operated by Air Nostrum

Questions:

1. Do I need to go through customs with my hand luggage and check in again at Madrid to board the MAD-CAS flight which is operated by Air Nostrum?
Note: Wikipedia says Air Nostrum is a franchisee of Iberia.

2. If the answer is Yes to 1 above, is 2h 10min enough to do that? I have never been to Madrid before, so have no idea how far terminals/gates are and how busy the queue is normally.

Thank you.

If buying this on https://www.iberia.com and booking as one journey then it should be counted as a thru ticket and your baggage (if checking in any) should be checked through to CMN from MAN (always check the tag placed onto your bag at checking for CMN code).

You should also receive both boarding cards in advance, either via online checkin, or at MAN.

It would be a simple case of moving between gates once you are at MAD although I suspect passport control checks at MAD to get through to the gates used for non-Schengen areas and/or non European flight departures.

Please do not however be tempted to book this as separate tickets via an on line seller.

You should be able to stay airside between flights, with your luggage checked through and your boarding passes for both flights issued at MAN (or obtained on phone app).

Iberia would not offer this flight combination if the transit time was insufficient. They will be responsible for rebooking you if there's any delay etc disrupting the connection.

I have connected at MAD T4 & T4S a number of times and it does work well. Anticipate a passport and security check.
If you have a through ticket there’s no need to go land side.
Btw, Royal Air Maroc are joining the one world alliance of which Iberia is also a member, so if you miss the Iberia flight to CMN they may put you on a Royal Air Maroc flight.
