EDF Smart meters

We used to have a pre payed meter, we used to just take the key to a shop, and top it up.

Then I kept getting texts and emails pestering me when will I book my smart meter, but I resisted for months due to hearing bad things about them,.

One common complaint being that customers we're complaining that their electricity didnt last as long and that it seemed like they we're using more power which of course wasent the case.

But eventually I gave in as it was reported that everyone has to have a smart meter by 2023.

But since having a smart meter fitted we have noticed when we top up the money on the meter doesnt last as long as it did before.

I rang EDF with my concerns, but they assured me this isnt the case, but we dont agree, we know how long £30 lasted before, so can compare it, but how do we contest this with EDF?

We have had a smart meter for quite a number of years.

No differnt to before we had one.

Its much cheaper if you go on direct debit though.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

You cant really check though, 30 will go as fast as you use different things, you would have to do exactly the same thing, imposaible.

It's got colder, it's got darker, the cost per kWh and / or the daily standing charge may have increased.

We are comparing to last winter, but my partner and I are convinced the money goes down quicker. It was EDF themselves that told me everyone has to have a smart meter by 2023.

To mis-quote Mandy Rice Davis: Well, they would say that, wouldn't they? :D
    It's not true.
