No credit issues but still declined for mobile phone contract

Post a decline for a mobile phone sim only contract from 3 I checked my credit record - it shows I have never missed any payment on anything (moblie phone, cards, mortgage etc) so can't see any issues
Last year I had exactly the same issue with vodafone. I emailed them to ask whey they had declined the contract, they didn't explain but instead issued the sim making me think there was some issue on vodafone side and didn't pursue it further.
However it seems too much of a coincidence that it happened again with different mobile company.
Has anyone faced this issue? How do I fix this for future?

Have you checked all three credit files for data accuracy? Are you on the ER?I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

Yes. no issues in any of them0 -
I'm sure its been posted on here before about Vodafone and posters being declined.
They can decline you and they don't have to tell you why.
As they don't have to tell you the reason then you can fix it so to speak.
Id choose a different network.0 -

It seems they may not be able to electronically identify you?
Possibly an address format mismatch (make sure the address you enter on the application exactly matches what is held on your credit record. / name mismatch i.e using Steve rather than Stephen.
It could also be that your council has not updated the electoral roll information for this year, yet? (what does it show on your credit report for this information?).
Three searches Experian as do, I believe, Vodafone. So maybe a focus on that particular CRA first?0 -
Do you already have a SIM only contract from 3? The networks don't like giving to may SIM cards to the same individual.
Its only 12th January. We have already had several threads about Equifax credit reports not yet being updated with 2020 ER details. Give them and the councils a chance.maxximus75 wrote: »I
