I think it's fairly normal in the SW when there's a mild winter.
Many places haven't had a proper frost yet, and there's no sign of any this month south of the Watford Gap.
But don't forget, The Beast From the East came in March....0 -
I was down in Herefordshire over the festive period and was surprised to see bats out flying at dusk. Another sign that it must have been a very mild winter down there!0

Just across the chanel in Somerset and I saw a camelia in bloom yesterday.
It's been so mild, just horribly wet and dark, so I think it's the older ones that are blooming
My little camelia was planted last year and still tiny so I'm hoping for a bloom, any bloom, any time would be fine to know it's going to make itI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on
The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

Got buds, but no flowers..._0

Admittedly they've been wintering in our conservatory, but the 1 year old nectarine tree is in full bloom, and the peach has started showing some pink buds. I will definitely look forward to them flowering each year as they mature!
My rose has only just stopped flowering, having had the most fabulous flowers over Christmas and new year.
The temperature seems to be up and down (just north of Nottinghamshire) so I'm erring on the side of caution as a still-inexperienced gardener and keeping most things inside. It's not just the plants who are confused about the weather; I am now not sure when to prune what.0
