Meadowhall Parking Ticket... Blue Badge on display... PCN

Hi all

Just yesterday I received a PCN in meadowhall car park, me and my wife was parked in the disabled section near argos entrance with a valid blue badge on display and have still received a PCN stating it wasn't visibly displayed which it was, it had slightly come down from the dash but still visible on the dash from the outside.

I've read through so many posts and the newbie section and am just overwhelmed with all the information.

Is the anybody that could draft a first response and let me know who it should go to first

first task is to complain to the staff management at Meadowhall and get it cancelled by mentioning the Equality act, this is by far the best option

then if its not cancelled by day 25 following the incident , appeal as keeper using the blue text template from the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread , to Minster Baywatch

after that , its a popla appeal

then its court

in that order

on learning of your protected characteruistic the PPC should cancel the charge forthwith. If they do not come back yto us.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Is there an upto date list of people at meadowhall to contact... Facebook page?? twitter?? How should it be worded as if i am the driver, just the keeper??

I shall include photographic proof they are completely in the wrong.

The driver should sit on their hands in the corner and say and do absolutely nothing.

The Keeper complains to the landowner. The Keeper appeals if that doesn't work.
You can ask the council who pays the non-domestic business rates to get an idea who owns the land.
You can pay a few quid to the Land Registry to get a definitive answer as to the owner's identity.
Searching the internet and this forum (set to show posts) using the site name can also be used.

The Keeper should always complain to their MP about this unregulated scam.

Get pics of the site and signage.

Just be aware that the blue badge scheme does not apply on private land, so showing one is only done as a curtesy, not as a requirement.
The EA 2010 does apply everywhere, so this should be one of the reasons for the complaints.

I am writing to you first in hopes that we can get this matter solved rightfully/quietly before I take this to the press.

Yesterday after shopping in Meadowhall I return to my car to find there had been a PCN issued on my vehicle, the car was parked in a disabled bay displaying a blue badge, in the designated parking bays and this was still issued.

This is in clear violation of the parking terms set in the car park but furthermore in direct breach of the Equality Act 2010

I therefore request that this Parking Charge Notice be cancelled immediately.

Attached I have provided proof of the blue badge in the car window as evidence this is a false charge.

I would very much appreciate not having to take this further but I will should I have to.

… The Driver returned to the car.

It should be sent to the landowner or their management agent.

The appeal to the scammers is already written for you in the NEWBIES.

The Keeper should complain to their MP no matter what the outcome.

Edit your post as already suggested. Parking scammers read this forum.

I would. Add the comments in red from post 1 of the NEWBIES quoted by our MPs during parliamentary debate if you wish, and expand on how this incident is a serious breach of the EA that could result in criminal charges against the landowners.
