Scottish Power have no meters

HI All

I have been trying to get my mums white meter comfort meter changed to an E7 meter . been getting the run round and now they are saying they cant do it as they have no E7 meters and there is a national shortage of them . They cant say if or when they will get them back in stock

any thoughts on going forward very welcome

Seems ridiculous. Can a smart meter not be fitted. Most modern meters can be programmed to be whatever tarrif..


As long as you are wanting fixed hours that is (8.5 in scotland not 7, but they still insist on calling it e7!).


If it is for non fixed hours then you have an issue as they want to phase it out which is why there are no supplies of meters for it. (but that's more tarrifs like the WM you want removed, are you sure they understand what is wanted).

yes they knew what we wanted ,we even had cozy kingdom which is a charity to help people with fuel issues, the phone was on loud speaker and they and us were speaking

they said no E7 and no smart meters and we had to stay on white meter - we are on

day rate 22 p per unit
comfort which is the storage heaters 14p
and night for the rest 11p
standing charge 27p a day

the only thing they said they could do is move us to a single rate of 17p with a 23 p standing charge

when you look at the E7 rates on uswitch etc then its obviously the way to go but we keep getting we can do it/ we cant and now its we have no meters

thinking off going down the complaint route , just dont understand why its so difficult

in the meantime its expensive bills

why do you want the white meter comfort (plus) removed, I've had that, it's good, get a couple of daily boosts for heating on cheap rate?

currently compared to rates in my previous post I could get with bulb
