Chances of appealing Santander time-barred decision

I've received two letters from Santander regarding a GE Money Card I had back in 1998.
The first admits to PPI being mis sold and on behalf of the insurers AXA France IARD and AXA France Vie offered me £238.60 full settlement against the insurer which I have since received.
The second letter says the complaint against Santander (SCUKL) is time-barred due to the case being more than six years old and I should have had the relevant knowledge to complain since 2012 when widespread coverage was made about PPI. The claim being time-barred as I should have claimed by 2015.
Are Santander saying I should be due more money but are not paying due to this and if so is there any chance I could appeal this?
Any help appreciated. Thanks

No. They're saying you're not due more money as your complaint is time barred.
There doesn't appear to be any reason for an appeal.0 -

No. They are saying that you are timebarred from raising a complaint. They havent even looked to see if you have a case or not because they dont need to with timebarred cases.if so is there any chance I could appeal this?
The FOS rarely overturn timebars but they do sometimes if the timebar is not applied correctly or there is good reason to do so (i.e. incapacity or death of a direct family member).
This could be one of those cases that does not have FOS remit. Have Santander given you permission to refer your complaint to the FOS? (some of the old store cards do not fall under the remit of the FOS).0
