But freehold houses need decoration and renewal of windows too! And door entry system if you choose to have one.
Plus you have all the hassle of dealing with contractors yourself with freehold which can be a nightmare.....
Both have cons and pros but free hold every time for me
Leasehold- renew lease x years
at mercy of of freeholder choosing own contractor
Share cost of maintenance of whole block, not just your own property, expensive maintenance of lifts
Ground rent, high service charges e.t.c
Freehold- generally no lease to renew
Generally no ground rent or service charges
choose your own reliable/ Cheap contractor or your choice, choose when to fix"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

With the hassles I have had over the last 9 months with the trades not turning up, in some ways i wish I had bought a leasehold. The theory behind leasehold isn't that bad, its just the money hungry human nature which ruins itAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0
