cruising for 3 persons

Hi
Myself and my Sister take my Brother who has downs syndrome away on holiday regularly.
We have taken him on 2 cruises with P and O. We all share one cabin, its 2 single and a 3rd bed drops down from the ceiling, you can see where the beds are stored ready to be dropped down so cabins can accomodate four.
Every time I try to price a cruise with P and O its fine for 2, but immediately you put in 3 every single cabin is sold out. They are the same cabins with drop down beds. Could it be a glitch in their system? any tips on booking for 3? last time we got a 3rd person discount , but we have heard of 3rd passengers travelling for a £1 on some cruises. We aren't restricted to P and O, just looking at late july (after 24thi ish because I work in a school) 7 days, fly from Manchester or other North West Airport or a sail from Liverpool or Newcastle, somewhere I can drive to. Not particularly bothered about the sun, fjords would be lovely!

In your situation I would be contacting a specilised cruise agent (and no, you won't pay more.) They can advise which ships have cabins with extra berths etc. Both Fred.Olsen & Cruise& Maritime have cabins with extra berths.
C&M's Columbus is a nice ship (originally built for Princess line) but I would avoid Marco Polo- great itineraries, hard, narrow beds!
Fred Olsen sails out of both Liverpool & Newcastle & they certainly go to Norway!

My advice would be to phone Ocean World Travel (they've been in business for 20 years??) and ask them to search for you. And no, I'm not getting a referal bonus- I wish!!

If we are talking this summer then don't leave it too long as I am thinking things in the summer holidays sell quickly
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

P&O often sell out of 3/4 berth in the school holodays they have the cabins but no space in the lifeboats.

    Any budget in mind?

Its how P&O have decided to operate their system.

I have also tried to book three and found nothing, increase it to four and no problem.

I would call P&O as not all cabins are released on line.

School holidays is different, they restrict children by age group. It has nothing to do with lifeboat capacity, it is down to the maximum number of children they can have in the children's clubs.

They do that as well for kids on bookings

They can't fill every berth with adults due to lifeboat restrictions.

Some ships are adult only how old is the brother?

Assuming adult Marella Explorer 2 out of Newcastle 25th July 7n <£1kpp.

if you can do 14n and up the budget there is a good option 1st Aug to Iceland.

Liverpool you have the CMV Magellan good one the 23rd July but if you can't make that 16Aug 10nights

Princess have lots of Med & Scandinavia cruises with much reduced price for 3rd person. Don't know if they have any fly cruises on offer ATM so you'd have to factor in flight costs. Otherwise they sail from Southampton.
