Help with credit file clarification

Hi, I need some advice about credit, as my situation is extremely frustrating (and unique).
I am 26 years old with no black marks on credit file, sitting in Experian’s ‘good’ section.
However....
I lived with my dad for the past year, and it seems he & the address have been caught up in some pretty bad financial trouble. The problem is, me and my dad share EXACTLY the same name. So every time I apply for credit, I am declined.
What I really need to know is - how can I clarify, on my credit file, that I am in no way involved with his financial situation. I have since moved into my own place!
Any help would be appreciated!

check you don't have anything related to him on your file
you have a different date of birth so name alone should not have any impact0 -
Hi,
If it were me, I would get my Statutory report from each of the three CRAs. You can then check the data in each file for accuracy and get things tidied up as required. Use the links below to access your three Statutory reports:
https://www.experian.co.uk/consumer/statutory-report.html
https://www.equifax.co.uk/Products/credit/statutory-report.html
https://www.transunionstatreport.co.uk/

Thanks for your reply. And I get these things tidied up by contacting each CRA?0

It would depend on the nature of the problem. But if it is an account that is incorrectly recorded on your file(s), then you would have to contact the applicable creditor and raise the dispute with them.
Edit: When you look at your files, remember to double-check if your father or anyone else is listed as a Financial Associate. (A financial association is someone you're linked to through joint finances or a joint credit account).I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

Your statement doesn't quite add up.
You say no black marks on credit file, sitting in Experian’s ‘good’ section. from which it is apparent that no adverse information concerning your dad's bad credit is on your files.
You then say me and my dad share EXACTLY the same name. So every time I apply for credit, I am declined.
Do you not find this contradictory? Also you and your dad will not share the same date of birth.0
