Eon sent additional bill

My daughter asked Eon if she could pay her quarterly bill early last month. She was expecting a baby around the date the bill was due and wanted to get it out of the way so it was one less thing to worry about. Eon agreed and she paid the bill of around £207. Yesterday (3 weeks later) they sent her another bill for £176. She has sent them a screenshot of her last payment and a transcript of the online chat she had with Eon, but they insist it's an "additional" bill and she has to pay it. My daughter is too exhausted to fight it at the moment but I'm not! Any ideas what we can do?

Thank you.

The usual questions - are both bills based on Actual or Estimated readings - electricity and/or gas .

    - your readings or theirs ?

    Boy or Girl ?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
  • Estimated as far as I know, and a beautiful boy!

There is no substitute for actual readings - read the meter and enter the readings on line, Your daughter may find she's in credit. Time also to hit the comparison sites.

Hello pammiec and hope all goes well with the birth.

As Robin9 says, please let us have up to date actual meter readings and we'll be happy to rebill your daughter's account accurately.

We're always keen to have actual readings and provide several ways for customers to send them. This includes online through our website, phone app, Social Media channels (Facebook and twitter) or Live Chat service; by phone or text, email or letter.

Once your daughter is feeling a bit stronger she might like to think about smart meters. They'll send us readings automatically so she doesn't have to. We don't charge to fit them and they'll take away estimated bills.

    Thanks pammiec.
