These bulbs seem to last a lot longer if you keep them on 24/7. The only long life bulb I have that has gone has been one that gets turned off for several hours. The ones that are on 24/7 never gone. All bought at the same time.0

Unless we are talking about dimmable smart LEDs we are talking about a £1:50 purchase, is it really worth spending any time on this?0

That may be the case with older style low energy bulbs but not be the case with LEDs, I can’t think of an situation in the home where any light needs to be left on 24/7.
We changed most of ours bulbs to LEDs 3 years ago, so far all 15 are still working fine. I just hope the new LED strip light I installed in the kitchen is not the one to break the trends, as that does not have replacement bulbs.0 -
You need to take in other factors that can cause premature failure. Power surges are the most common.
12 months is pretty good going but if you want to spend hours chasing a couple of quid then it's your time to waste.0 -

They can cost a lot more than £1.50 each.
The MR16 LED's I fitted in my house about 4 years ago are priced at just under £11 each (without the driver unit).
I bought these because they were recommended to me by an electrician friend (I didn't buy them from him).
I fitted 19 of these and to date, all 19 are still working.0 -
If you had 2 or 3 bulbs failing, then you might argue that it is a quality issue, but one bulb failing would fit within a normal distribution based on a 15000 hour average lifespan.
Note down when it failed and keep an eye on the others...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
