  • Thanks for your inputs Gerry & Richie. I can see where each one of you is coming from.

Coming to my requirements- There is someone in the house most of the time n I prefer something simple n solid so that it’s maintenance is not a headache n stress for me particularly looking to my zilch diy skills n knowledge of electrics.
Will let u all know how I got on once everything is completed.

May I add a thought to this comparison between different heater types? My experience with Dimplex products suggests that complexity on their part is to be avoided. It's a general rule in any case (the more 'sophisticated' or 'advanced' a product is, the more there is to go wrong) but it seems doubly true in the case of Dimplex products I have used.

If it were me, the 'simple box of bricks' would be my choice. Though only if there were no other possible option than fitting one these expensive, cumbersome, unresponsive, money-eaters.

The Quantum [designed] System is without doubt the top dog of NSH.
The Quantum stand alone heater is without doubt the 737 max of a heater.

4 NSH units, mains logic transmission between units and mother control, water heater ditto, wiring, CU, install costs would be horrendously expensive. Done and dusted a good system.

A single underbricked heater would be underpowered IMO because it would have to revert to dumb and even on an expensive frightening E10 tariff would IMO still underperform on kW output compared to a cheap bigger bricker.

I'm no Quantum phanboy, I'd love a free 'whole system' one in a new house install, particular would be a fee long extension to warranty on electronics and in particular the controller parts.

    A brick is a brick.

An update to close this - I purchased as well as got the Storage heater Fitted by the company from the link mentioned earlier ( why the search engines did not show them is something I cannot comprehend). Those guys know what they do & the replacement was done in January itself & it has worked without any issues.
My deep thanks to all of you for your inputs & help.
