I've seen this mentioned on here before but don't know how you set them up, a colleague seems to be having lots of problems, most recently someone trying to buy a house!!

It sounded like you set up feaud alerts from a company, not sure if it was CIFAS?
I'd never paid much attention to those threads so can't be certainMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

That's it thank you. It looks like it was harmless this time and a misspelt email address but he had a couple of hacks before Christmas so was a bit concerned.Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Most individuals don't have 'a couple of hacks' whatever that means exactly but placing protective CIFAS registrations on his credit files is not something he should do lightly and without good cause as it will cause him difficulty and delay in obtaining credit for himself.0

He had someone charge things to his credit card and access his amazon account just before Christmas.
I know very little about CIFAS but thought it might be worth investigating if someone was trying to purchase a house in his name as suspected.Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Such a protective registration would be of no benefit in the situation described above. It applies to new credit applications.
Do you really believe that somebody would try to purchase a house in his name?0 -

I don't believe a house purchase could go through fraudulently, but that doesn't mean to say someone wouldn't try. It was finding the emails sent to his account that made him concerned, following last month's problems. As I said above it turned out that it was due to a digit being missed out on the email addressMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023
