What is actually involved in becoming a DCC user, how quickly can it be done, and what is the extra upfront/ongoing cost?

heres the charging statement up to March last year https://www.smartdcc.co.uk/media/1972/charging_statement_ry1819_-_issue_20__final_.pdf

There's a raft of info in t'interweb of what required to get up and running you just need to search for it. What is harder to find is how individual meters are enrolled and how they cope with meters that have been inherited from previous suppliers which have become dumb and need to be upgraded.

One would hope that anyone who was already in, or contemplated getting into the energy market, would be getting themselves fully acquainted with the requirements and making arrangements to comply with the licencing conditions

    Thanks.

What you may not have picked up on is that I am not looking to become a DCC user myself and so am not really looking for a blow by blow account of how to become one.

I was inviting the opinion of experienced users here on the real logistics, time scales and cost of these suppliers actually becoming DCC users.

Have you actually looked at the link provided by DawnCrush?

I think DCC users are are suppliers & the like; I thought this board was intended for consumers.

DawnCrush didn't provide a link, just one of those jokey "let me Google that for you" links (in other words suggesting that I should be Googling it and looking it up for myself, rather than asking the question here).

    This board is for consumers.

Consumers who are customers of energy suppliers and would like to know how those suppliers are likely to be affected by this, and might like to get opinions, and engage in discussions on that subject.

    Should've gone to specsavers!

I can see one. You actually quoted it!

... so most unlikely that many will be experienced DCC users.

Well, you have made a total of 4 posts here, 2 of which have been responding to me, so I'm sure you are fully aware of the range of knowledge users here have.

Do try to read the responses provided to you for your assistance (even if they were not the responses you were hoping to receive)

You clearly do not understand the point that the other user was making.
