    Good morning everyone :hello:

Well I am fairly vibrating with anxiety as I have the community rehab team coming to see me at 10am. I will have to confess that I have done hardly any of the exercises due to pain, I hope they won't be cross :(. My doctor came to see me yesterday and has diagnosed a nerve problem in my leg so I am going to be taking even more tablets now, I do actually rattle now :). It was a relief that I didn't need to go for a scan or anything like that. The district nurse is coming to take blood from me this morning as well, I am all medicalled out to be honest.

My sister is popping in to see me later on which is always a pleasure. Lee made some banana and fudge muffins last night so she can have one with her cup of tea. It's date night again with Steve so tonight he is cooking gammon steaks, pineapple and chips and we will be watching a film cuddled up on the settee. This is definitely one of my better resolutions :rotfl:.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Congrats, Jackie O.

RR, just tell her she's better off not having any connection with him at all.

Good luck with the meet TA.

We went down to Laura's with all the stuff they couldn't fit in the car after New Year, including the hugs case Brian had packed for himself which Laura made him ditch (borrowing a normal one from us). The delayed 6 week check went well, his weight has stayed plumb on the 50th percentile since he was born although he is long so he's still a bit skinny.

We then went to baby cinema to watch Little Women, about 100 mums and babies under a year old in a lovely independent theatre in Homerton. We enjoyed the film although it was a bit hard to hear the dialogue at times. It stuck to the story which I know very well although it followed the fashion for jumping the timeline all over the place (just watched Fosse/Verdon which did the same).
  • Just checking in again as am no longer going out, my friend's plumber has just contacted her to say that he will visit later this morning and she needs to be at home. We will meet next week instead.

So a day of aimless pottering for me, might do some clearing up in the garden, the weeds are coming in but the ground is damp and cold for kneeling on.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

  • My goodness the sun is shining but its still freezing out.

Been doing the January shuffle, moving money around. I contacted out Broadband provider and sorted out a new package, have elected to pay the line rental annually, so will have to shove a bit extra into the savings account for next year. It has saved a bit, but what we have saved will mostly have to go into the savings pot. We have got a faster speed, it can be diabolical at times.

OH reading, he went outside, was soon back in the warm, 'too cold to work outside'.

No plans for today, cleaner phoned yesterday and is coming on Wednesday, so I shoved the Gtec round and blew the dust away. I must clean the toilet and also tackle the kitchen floor. OH will have to help me move the table.

Fish and chips tonight, possibly banana something for dessert.

Morning all! Been up for a couple of hours but not compos...I have just managed to catch the postman to give him a little box of chocolates to say thank you, he's such a nice bloke, but I think a limping hurrying mad person with hair sticking up everywhere and no shoes on [ the floor was wet too, oops] looked a bit of a threat, but luckily he stopped....He does walk very fast....By the time I'd got out the door he was four houses away...
Now I just have to work out the logisitcs of getting a box of chocolates to the binmen...
Not doing much today, OH is at hospital this afternoon, nothing serious, just annoying so he'll come out covered in sticking plasters, and he's out with friends for a birthday after. I would go but I'm still snotty and I'd rather keep my germs to myself than run the risk of getting new ones on top of the old ones..
My motivation mojo ha returned. i spent a lot of time yesterday looking at architects work on the internet and finalising a mental plan for the house. I really need to understand how flat roofs, hidden guttering and doglegged walls would work, along with roof material, rsj's [ grammar police, is that comma right? probably not...] and extended bits with overhanging roofs from next door....
Decluttering will start in earnest here next week, to be followed by one in Wales, so hopefully I can get in the mindset.
Although we have started re-watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer [ OH has not seen the first three seasons] and my god don't they look young!
More research from me today along with a visit to the Home Renovation center at the weekend.

Jackie, lovely name, sometimes old-fashioned are the way to go! AOD, good luck in the garden, I look at mine and despair...nanny, hope you're taking good painkillers! Hope the visit was productive dumpling, just remember they're trying to help not hinder...ruby, sounds like this is going to get ugly...be prepared...Gers, hope the doc can do something for her, I admire her pernickety-ness [ can that be policed? :)] and continued well dones for ninja walking :) Happycas, my favourite mistake and one that riles me no end is 'should of' or any variation thereof when the of should be a have. Or Chester Draws....Right, I'm going to stop moaning and wish all of you a good day, and a hey to all reading along, hopefully also Holly and SO...Fired up Friday!

A lot of my work comes from university students who require me to go through their completed assignments, and some of the errors are eye watering. Are, instead of our, is quite a common error, as is there, their, and they’re.

Mostly, my suggestions / corrections are gratefully received, but there have been times where someone has got the hump because they didn’t like having their errors pointed out :rotfl:

Latterly I taught Academic Skills to undergrads, their lack of basic English grammar and spelling was outstanding. Some would complain that they had used the spellchecker without realising that it was only a spellchecker and incorrect words can be spelt correctly. Drove me mad!

TAFF - no apostrophe as 'rjs' is a plural not a possessive!

Anyway, been for a haircut so feel more respectable. Didn't go shopping though picked up a paper for DM. I've got a couple of paperwork chores to sort out.

Lunch will be cold pork loin - again :rotfl:
  • Oh my. After about 10 years in the wilderness I'm able to post again. I used to post intermittently and lost my passwords, but since the emails 're new platform, I suddenly have access again. I'm not an early bird due to rushing around for work, but used to enjoy posting on the daily, fences and 5 pleasures under a different name. I'm welsh as some may have guessed, my many years of stalking and observing there are more here. I'd love to join you, I'm harmless, occasionally stressed an d often boring. :)
This year I'm going to do it . . .;)
