Stress free sales tips?

Hello
I have been asked to sell my Dad's car (a cheap run around) and trike as he is no longer well enough to drive and is pretty much stuck indoors. He doesn't use the internet much so selling would be tricky for him.
Now I've done this before but my health is pretty ropey at the moment and I am grasping at straws for an easier way that doesn't lose too much money. Neither my husband or I drive so we cant take the car to a 'we buy anycar' type place.
The trike is garaged and on Sorn so cant be test driven so I have no idea where to start with that.
I know i can advertise on facebook/ebay for the car but just wondering if i'm missing something easier?
If I've got to put in the work and go through facebook/ebay i will but currently googling for ideas that might be simpler.
Thanks for reading

Gumtree is free but the advert drops down the list as new adverts are posted.
Selling bikes (trike) that are sorn is not a problem as long as you advertise it as such - whoever buys it will have to bear that in mind and either not have a test drive or just do a quick up and down the road if you trust them.
They will either have to bring a van to take it away or get it taxed before they move it.0 -
Do you have a local repair garage who might buy the car in the hope of fettling it into shape and selling on? They won't offer much for it though.
As to the trike, if it was built by a professional builder might they want to buy it?0 -
Thank you..
Trike - i believe this was imported from new by someone on the other end of the country. Dad's health has deteriorated quickly and he just kept waiting to get better to use it.. i dont think it will have done more than a couple of hundred miles.
If I'm honest I don't have the health/energy to do this but nobody else ..just a bit intimidated. I can't answer questions on the Trike that aren't copied from log book.
I guess it will be adverts everywhere and fielding questions waiting for the buyer... just wanted to make sure there was no short cut.
when i get the car i'll phone local car places.. i havent actually seen it yet.. thanks0 -
Be realistic about what each vehicle is worth.
I would consider selling the trike via a specific owners forum, more likely to get genuine interest by people who will know about them.
Car wise I have used ebay, forums and the local scrapyard to sell at the cheaper end of the market.
Out of interest what car is it?0 -

I don't know the car.. just that its a smallish, older automatic. I'm getting it driven over next week.
I know that seems strange being family car but I am quite poorly and don't get wheelchair out to walk them to car after a visit.
I hadnt thought about owners forums.. that is a great plan..again when i know what it is I can hopefully find one..
I always look for similar vehicles and what they have sold for then go from there price wise..
As I said i'm dreading it.. selling tellies, dvd's, house stuff and wheelchairs is where my skills are.. but as i have the internet and time its my job. Happy to help just overwhelmed.0 -
Just sell it to a cars for cash outfit (plenty around just google for your area); they will come to your door and take it away. You'll only get trade price; if you want more you have to accept some stress.0

Thanks Ed.
I was struggling to find one that covers my area and collects.. i suspect i'm googling wrong. That would be my ideal way.
Might try a week on facebook then go that route0 -
Don't use Facebook marketplace. I sold a banger on there recently and had 45 enquiries in 5 hours, even after I'd sold it and removed it they still wouldn't give up asking if it was still available.
There are a few scams about that are conning private sellers.
One of the popular ones is squirting oil up the exhaust pipe and in the radiator expansion tank and claiming the head gasket is blown then negotiating a big discount.
Your local vehicle auction house will sell your vehicles. There's usually an entry fee (£30 ish) plus 10% sellers fee.
Some even come and collect the vehicles from you.0 -
I'm a bit nervous having people come here this time...
I don't knwo anything about vehicle auctions.. will add that to the list.0
