Post Office Direct Debit

Hi all, in the process of setting up some direct debits to get some bonuses, just wondering if i set up 2 direct debits from the linked account (1 on the 1st of the month and another on the 30th) to go into the post office saver account, is this recognised as 2 active direct debits from the switching bank? Or would it just be one as it’s from/to the same account?

Thanks.

They'd be treated as one by the receiving bank for switching purposes.

there are loads out there, just apply for one and ensure DD is set up and then you can switch, if you want a quick one then you can look for charity such as Amnesty, RSPCA, UNICEF, Shelter.org, Redcross, Cancer Research, BHF (some may require £2) or you can also take a look at https://www.onepounddd.com/ and https://littledebits.co.uk which is super quick to set up DD and once your switch has gone through and received the bonus then you can cancel the DD but just check if you need your DD active (or to go out every month) to where you are switching to, then you will have to find a more acceptable ones (if you don't want to donate or already donating in some ways).

I might be stating the obvious, but if you set up a direct debit to be taken on the 30th of the month, what happens in February, or if the last working day of the month is the 28th or 29th and the direct debit gets taken on the 1st or 2nd of the following month?
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

first time I did this I opened 2 accounts which worked, but it is possible to do it with only 1 post office savings account, and set 1 dd to £1 monthly, and 1 DD to £1 weekly, I did this last year and managed to qualify for the switching bonus at nationwide.
and have the same system set up with barclays too, which keeps my blue rewards going.
I have just done the same thing for a friend for switching to TSB and on the Monzo app before switching it showed 3 active direct debits (1st one was for inital credit, then £1 weekly and £1 monthly)
but on the TSB online banking now it's switched it does only show one. not sure if that'll qualify or not...?

My understanding is that if the DD cannot be paid on the due date, then it will be actioned on the next working day (which could, of course, mean that February's DD isn't paid until March). But in the universe in which the Post Office Savers are located, do NOT rely on any such simple rule - they share a different reality...
