Good news now! I have had a phone call from the fosterer and Sparkle turned up this morning, safe and sound after her little adventure!! So relieved. I said I hope this hasn't given her the wanderlust and she tries it again. On the contrary, she said, I think it has probably reminded her why she wants to be a house cat and prefers to stay safely indoors! I am now sorting out when I can meet her again!
xx
Most excellent news :j thanks for letting us all know.0 -
Morning all
Dogs walked and fed two cups of tea drunk and the DW is on need to drop DD2 and her fiancee at Lakeside then will go and do mums eyes she actually said they were a bit better this morning;)
TA glad Sparkle has made a reappearance

Morning all! A tossing and turning kind of night, for some reason, normally I lay my head on the pillow and I'm out, lately, it takes me ages to get to sleep...And then stay asleep...Probably the cold..although I only recall waking up once to blow my nose..
No plans today, maybe a little pottering and a shower, I'm beginning to smell like a tramp. If I could smell that is...
Nice and sunny today so far though, the cat has been waved out to play and bean stew from yesterday, pronounced really nice by OH so good job because we're eating it again today...That's the power of chipotle paste and flakes along with some birds eye chillies...WHile stirring that yesterday I noticed how grubby the tiles are on the wall by the cooker so I may get my steam mop out to play. The middle bit comes off so you can use it handheld, let's see how it stakcs up to grease and bits of flying tomato sauce [ when that stuff bubbles it's like lava!]
We, or mostly I, watched Messiah on Netflix yesterday and the day before, quite enjoyed it, then a spanish programme about superheroes, I think it's supposed to be like the Tick or Shazam but completely missed the mark. Maybe it's funnier in Spain..
Anyway, more tea is required to take the taste of cough medicine out of my mouth [ I'm sure they tasted better when I was younger] and what were those pink tablets we used to suck? They were lovely!
TA, my heart was in my mouth and then back out of my mouth again in the right place...Glad she's OK..Jackie, congratulations on your GGD and family continuitycamelot, well done! Nelski...oooo...intriguing! Hope you hear something soon! commiserations on today though...Gers, lots of people [ myself included probably] wouldn't have worked so hard to get so thoroughly better as you are...Speky, I occasionally think of doing yoga, then think of something else, you're like Mr Motivator...mehefin, bad luck on the colic and the poison letter...hope this year is better for you....BTDT, editing manuscripts? that sounds like fun. No, really, it does, I'm not being sarcastic...Scarlet, same, we didn't have animals because work would have meant leaving them on their own too long. I doubt our visitor wil like it when I'm back in work either...nanny, hope you haven't decluttered yourself! AOD, my sister loves feeding and watching the birds, I get a blow by blow account of who they are, how often they ome, what they eat and any pop up bird surrises when I see her
Hey all reading along...And yesterday was Wednesday wasn't it? So even with the thread named I STILL didn't know what day it was, doh! So..Try Harder Thursday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Good morning everyone :hello:
It's sunny here but very cold, I am currently shivering under a blanket. The heating has only just gone on but the house will soon be warm thank goodness.
What lovely pieces of news on here today. JackieO, I am so pleased to hear about your new great grand daughter. What a whopper of a size, my Phoebe was over 9lb born and she was just a lovely cuddly baby. Can't wait to hear what name she has xx
TA, great news about Sparkle too. I was worried with your first post and then the update...hooray! I am a cat person even though I absolutely adore my Bobby and Max. I would dearly love another cat but Bryan (Phoebe's evil kitty) would never allow it. I hope she settles down after her adventure and makes friends with you xx
Gers, I am so happy for you as well that you have put the effort into your recovery and it is paying off big time. Hope your mum finds the will to get up more in the days to come xx
Nelski, it all sounds very positive about work, good luck with the banana gazing xx
I'm still waiting for my GP to come and visit. I will be going back to bed once he has been and gone as I am shattered after another broken night's sleep. Steve was the same as he woke with a nasty headache. We are going to be fit for nothing at this rate but at least we can be grumpy together.
Mince is out defrosting and we are going to make keema pie for dinner hopefully. I still haven't got round to making a cake yet so that will be on the agenda either today or tomorrow.
Hope you have a lovely day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Off to Aldi first thing, everything packed away, we have just finished off the leek and potato soup and the last of the pate on some toast.
Congratulations GG Jackie O, at last and a very good weight too.
Grey clouds scudding across the sky, we has a small burst of sunshine and then it disappeared.
Quiche, salad and potato salad for supper, wither banana or lemon cheesecake for dessert.0 -
Afternoon all- cant believe how the day is running away from me
.Dropped DGS off at school this morning & did quite well timewise its about 3 or 4 miles usually in heavy traffic , then Db came for a brew and stayed for a while, not seen him since CDay but SiL has had a chest infection and DNiece is off school too.
Not having much success getting a plumber to look at the boiler , our usual one has more or less retired and lives in Cumbria now & the one DH uses for work is really busy.Rang one they recommended and no answer, another hasnt a slot until next Thursday. We can keep downstairs warm with the burner and we have an immersion for emergencies - its just upstairs and the bathroom is absolutely freezing!
JO - congratulations on your new GGD,lovely.
TA- so glad Sparkle came back
Hope everyone is ok x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon all,
I'm a bit late today but we've have been to Dad's. Mr Fix It has fixed his kitchen tap ( the mixer bit wouldn't turn ) put more lagging on some outside pipes, then cut up a large cardboard box and put it in his recycling bag. I've changed his bedding, cleaned the bedroom top to bottom and then did his bathroom. I've been on at him for a while to get a cleaner because I used to do twice as much, but it's just not possible now ( old age and ill health). He has a number to ring tonight about a private cleaner, but I don't know if anything will come of it.
Dad was coming over for tea but we are due heavy rain and thunderstorms later, so he's decided not to come. It's hot dogs and chips so we'll still have those, but I will forego the chips and replace it with a side salad. Dad said he will get something from his freezer and I've made sure he has plenty to choose from.
TA I hope Sparkle settles in with you and I'm so glad she returned. I'm a cat person too but like Scarlett we can't have one as we are out / away a lot in the summer. Plus Dad is allergic ( could I have one ? ,no I mustn't
)
dp1 I hope all goes well with DD and the baby.
JackiO Congrats on the birth of the great granddaughter :j. Blimey no wonder she was loathe to make an appearance.......... such a good weight too ! Hope baby and Mum are doing well.
Dumpling I hope the GP visit was productive for you.
LoneWW I hope you feel better soon.
Gers sorry that your DM is not getting out of bed as much. Many hugs.
Mehefin nice to "see" you. Sorry that all has not been a bed of roses over the hols. I hope you and MrsM can now settle for a while.
taff I believe those tablets were Tyrozets. Joan (ex next door) gave me some a couple of years ago so they were still being prescribed then. They were still in the brown container with the flip lid . That brings back memories ! BTW sometimes I think I would like to declutter myself....... preferably to somewhere warm :rotfl:
Nelski thanks for making me head cheerleader ! I love shaking those pom poms, but the uniform rides up something chronic when I do the splits :rotfl:
RedRuby fingers crossed that things can be sorted amicably. Hugs to your DD.
Camelot sorry that you have had a tough time lately, hope things improve asap.
Take care and hugs to all.

Afternoon all. Wet now but we have had a dry norning. We did a bit of grocery shopping this morning and DF spent my Hobbycraft birthday voucher on some grass for his model railway as I didn't want anything. A beef casserole is in the slow cooker for dinner.
Congrats JackieO on your new great granddaughter
TA glad Sparkle came home safely.
Well have a good evening folks. Keep warm and cosy.

Hi chums alls well with Mum and baby and thank you all for the good wishes, and she goes by the grand name of Ida Margaret Florence, my granddaughter prefers names that aren't easy to shorten ,her 21 month sister is called Erin
she is a cute little lass with a mass of dark hair like her Dad, but thankfully not his beard.
Weather has been pretty wet today and so I have kept in the warm, history club tomorrow morning, so I will probably do my small shop on the way home.Only the second one this month ,so sticking to using up left overs from Xmas as much as possible.
Hope everyone is warm and dry,
Cheers chums
JackieO xx0
