Aqua credit card application. Further checks

Need your input pls

I have a fairly poor credit history so trying to build it back up.was surprised i got accepted for a vanquis card for 250 and ive been managing it very well since August.

I saw an advert for aqua flyingbover my screen and i tried the eligibility check and told me 95% approval.i did the quiz and got apreappeoved.

Then to the decision page.says its been referred for further checks ".this was done on 2 Jan. Called them yesterday and said it was with another department and wont say what department it is.

I don't want anything to spoil my credot history as i got a good job now and trying to build it back up

Anyone have an idea what these checks are?

It varies. Can be ID, CIFAS, or something else. Generally fairly routine.

But nothing you can about it. Just wait for their decision.

Even if you're rejected, it won't 'spoil' your history.

So they called me and wanted to run some further checks with me.like who i rent the property from, (i rent it from a family member with same last name). If i have any other credit cards.my middle name. And to confirm if i was the one applying.

Im quite concerned now cos i dont want them to link me with anything fraudulent thinking that's what i was doing. Ive confimed i was the one applying

Told them i applied because it showed me i was preapproved as ive always been declined in the past so i was sure i was going to get it.still got declined anyway but just dont want anything going on my CIFAS file

Any one had any experience of this

You'll have to point it out to me then, because I can't.

There's no reason for anything to go on your CIFAS file, as you've confirmed you made the application.

But thanks for the advice. Was just worried they would think i was on to something dodgy with all the extra personal questions

I simply meant that it won't spoil your history, as it's just a search. The decision is not recorded.

In itself, one search is a neutral act.
