Child Trust Fund Worry

1 of children will be 18 this year & grandparents have been putting a substantial amount into his CTF.
My worry is he will still be at school for best part of another year and has not really had to deal with money.
Does anyone else have similar worries on recently matured or maturing CTFs and any ideas to safeguard (with child's consent) ?

has not really had to deal with money.
At 18 he needs to learn.
Discuss with him what he would like to do with the money.
Perhaps he might like to consider a LISA for part of it?
As for the rest, savings account rates are here.
