Leftovers curry is bubbling away in the slow cooker and smells great!

I found a penny in the car park on my way out of work. Any “street cash” like this that I find gets paid off the mortgage as well so that’s what I did. Then I felt bad for my EF so I transferred £2 to that! Sig. updated.

So now it’s £10 for the EF and £15 for the furniture balance and 33 days to find it!

The leftovers turkey curry was a resounding success and so easy to do :T I have leftovers of my leftover curry for lunch today :rotfl:

Filled pasta and sauce tonight with leftover garlic naan bread instead of traditional garlic bread - it actually holds sauce better than garlic bread and we don't mind a mismatched meal thank goodness!

OH is eating the last of the freezer bits for his lunch today so I will FINALLY be able to defrost it tonight and then get on the case of restocking it with ys bargains.

I didn't get started on the cupboard under the sink last night but must do that tonight - OH is out for a bit so that should help. (Does anyone else seem to get much more done when left to their own devices? :D )

I 100% get more done when I'm on my own and left to my own devices. OH huffs if I try and do any housework in the evening after LO has gone to bed. Well doing the dishes and wiping down the kitchen after dinner is allowed, but no dusting or anything else!:rotfl: I'm not quite sure how it ruins his evening but hey ho!

You're doing so well with all your TT's and street cash! Any pennies etc I find usually go in my money tin. When it's full I'll cash it in and either put it towards Christmas or paying down the loan.
  • Thanks eyebright - they're funny aren't they?! My OH says "oh leave that, I'll do it tomorrow" if he's WFH the next day but then I hate coming down in the morning to mess, even if I'm rushing straight out of the door. Plus I always have another list of things in my head that I'd like him to be getting on with whilst he's WFH :rotfl:

It's good to do something with those pennies isn't it? Rather than just letting them disappear into purse change.

And as if to prove my point - I managed to clear out and reorganise the whole double cupboard under the kitchen sink last night in about half an hour. I thought it would take me a few sessions!

I was able to throw out a lot of empty jars/tins/bottles/tubes. Moved a lot of bathroom products to where they belong. Discovered 5 full cans of furniture polish - really must start using this a bit more often. 2 cartons of oven cleaner - REALLY must use this. Put 2 bits in the charity bag. Consolidated the ends of 3 tubs of dishwasher tablets into one tub - should be enough to last for quite some time, several months I'd say. Found the coffee machine descaler tablets and put them to work straight away. 3 x sachets of kettle descaler - on OH's list for today! And everything went back in a neat order. Phew!

Next mission is the medical cupboard - I'm sure there's some ancient bits in there that actually would have no effect if they were used.

TT's done for the day and I'm still on 100% success for bringing my breakfast, lunch and snacks in to work for this year.

Apologies in advance if we're not allowed to post links here and please let me know if it needs to be removed. This is the box I use for work:

    https://sistemaplastics.com/products/to-go/1.65l-bento-lunch-to-go

It's really handy as I just have to remember to pick up one thing in the mornings. In the large top bit I take a slice of bread to toast/crumpet/hot cross bun or similar. Or sometimes some cereal to add milk to once I'm at work. Snacks go in the sections and pot on the right - the idea being that they're healthy things such as grapes/chopped cucumber/tomatoes. The reality doesn't always work out like that - today I have biscuits as that's all I could find indoors (really must do a shop and grab some fresh bits). And my main lunch in the large bottom section - anything goes for this bit: leftover sausages/mash/beans, pasta bake, a chicken/prawn salad, and today I have crackers with a homemade egg mayo.

I really hope to keep this up for as long as possible - I have the end of a loaf in the freezer here at work and a can of soup in my drawer in case I forget my box one day. So no emergency trip to the expensive shop nearby required!

Oh and the freezer was finally defrosted :j:T
Can't believe I forgot that bit! It's been months I've been trying to run it down (it's really not that big, quite the reverse, I just kept finding bargains I couldn't turn down).

It was unplugged for about an hour, then I went to look at it and all the ice came off in my hand in one big block. So not the horrendous waiting game I thought it would be. It's all wiped out and back up and running again waiting to be filled with ys items.

You've been busy! :D Well done on organising the dreaded cupboard under the sink, that's a job that really needs to go on my to-do list as well, as well as cleaning the oven!:o
Glad you finally got the freezer defrosted too! LO is poorly at the moment, and that paired me functioning on very little sleep means I have a lot of housework to catch up on! Uggh!

Going great with your targets too!
