Hidenda ppi claim

Looking for advice. I went through Hidenda to reclaim ppi from GE money (something I know now I should have done myself but didn't know at the time). GE money acknowledged the claim in October (I had ppi on a mortgage for 6 years with no knowledge of this at all) and I filled out forms and letters of authority for 4 separate cases. I've heard nothing since. I messaged Hidenda the other day to suggest that I contact GE money myself to see what's happening but Hidenda replied that it's just a patience and waiting game. The FCA said they couldn't advise me whether to contact GE money myself or not but gave me a contact for GE money should I want to do so.. I know going with Hidenda wasn't a good move but I'm stuck with them now. Question is - can I contact GE money myself to see what's happening with the claim? Am I able to do this? Is it a waste of time or even damaging to the claim?

Of course you can contact them. Hidenda won't ever do more than posting your complaint, so you need to put in the effort if you want an update.

I would contact GE no it won't be damaging to the claim and even if it's a waste of time it will, put your mind at rest

How does one have PPI on a mortgage without knowing? It’s usually a stand alone product with its own direct debit
    helpful tips
    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

Is this the "complaint" you put forward about a mortgage PPI policy?

Realise that if you had "no knowledge" then you are just admitting that you signed your mortgage documentation without reading it and then subsequently never checked your bank statements!

Six years of statements means that you ignored 72 separate PPI payments itemised on a separate line.
Only in the unlikely event the PPI was front- loaded onto your mortgage would your "complaint" have any validity.
In addition, you should realise that most mortgage PPI complaints fail.
Mortgage PPI is a useful insurance and is still retailed today.
You'll have to hope that the Bank finds something else wrong with the sale of your PPI as part of their investigation , I'm afraid...

Well , the main thrust of your post is the seeming lack of any update on the status of your complaint. You must realise that all lenders are still currently working through a huge backlog of PPI complaints caused by a massive influx of last minute complaints submitted just prior to the deadline. This has nothing to do with your complaint having been submitted via a Claim Company.
So by all means contact the seller of the PPI, but expect them to tell you exactly what I said above. It certainly won't damage your complaint, however.

There wasn't any separate direct debit for ppi - I'd have noticed otherwise. My statements only ever showed one mortgage payment.

I didn't have any separate ppi itemised on statements or I would have noticed. Also, I was asked if I wanted ppi and specifically said I didn't want or need it as my job gives 6 months paid cover. There was no mention of ppi in my mortgage documents.

So how exactly have you determined that you actually paid PPI if it didn't appear on any of your mortgage Agreement and was not paid as a separate monthly premium?

Mortgage PPI was not generally set up to be paid along with the mortgage as a single monthly premium, so are you certain this is the case here?

It's also a myth, sponsored by the type of Claim Company you are employing, that PPI was just randomly added without the knowledge and permission of the customer.

Paid cover in the event of what? You certainly wouldn't have been paid this if you were made redundant and the PPI would regardless have paid out in addition to any employment benefits.

You really do appear to have applied loan PPI complaint reasons to a complaint about mortgage PPI.

The thing is, that it was added without my consent as I definitely turned it down at tge time.

The Bank's records will refute this I'm afraid. You just can't remember signing up for it.

All you can do is hope the Bank find other things wrong with the sale as part of their investigation or auto-pay to avoid the FOS fee...
