Aldi Family Tent - 9th June - Any Good?

We just took this tent for a week camping in Wales. Two things went wrong: there was a very small leak around the top window in heavy rain (one drip every few minutes), and the elastic in one of the poles broke when we were taking it down (easily fixed with a trip to Blacks I'm told).

The design with the straps across the floor makes it quite hard to pitch it with all the side panels tight so we ended up with a couple that flapped in the wind quite badly; perhaps this will get easier with practice.

Apart from that it did survive a very stormy night, which broke poles and downed tents for some other campers on the same site, so this is a qualified recommendation, especially for the price.

The awning is not that big, it's a strip about 3 feet wide by 6 feet long that folds out from above either door just to create a bit of extra shelter or shade. It did work pretty well as a shelter from the rain for cooking.
