Supermarkets and their pointless ANPR 'enforcement'

In starting this thread, I make no comment either way about the travelling community and encourage everyone to see the real issue here:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7860273/Travellers-establish-camp-Birmingham-Lidl-car-park.html

Supermarkets are happy to let PPCs threaten, harass, frighten & sue their own customers and are scared of 'carmageddon' (which is a figment of the BPA and IPC's imagination) but when they have a real problem it's clear nothing can be done. So exactly what service are they paying for (oh wait, they don't pay for it).

To be clear, for anyone who has misconstrued this post when it was first made, we don't condone not paying a reasonable fee to park and have never posted or suggested anything like that.

Personally I have never had a problem with them.

I certainly would never go to the extreme and inconvenience to cover up my plate every time.

Generally, if you stick to the "rules" you will be ok

Isn't this a trespass rather than a parking issue?

Down to the landowner to evict

POFA covers both trespass and parking.

I will comment of this oppressed ethnic minority. Imo, many seem to regard the laws and customs which enable a harmonious society in contempt.

Some years ago I took some friends to The Ridgeway Berkshire This area of outstanding natural beauty had been infested by caravan dwellers. The air was acrid with the smell of burning rubber, and the car park was littered with old fridges and cars.

On another occasion at Caesar's Camp in Bracknell I was bitten by one of their dogs.

I am not favourably disposed towards this community.

You have been lucky, though this is a pretty unhelpful post considering there are 2229 pages of victims that have had problems with scammers needing help. I can assure you that a considerable number of those were trying to stick to the rules that they knew of.

Maybe. But think this is rather different to your average parking issue

Quite honestly as a landowner I wouldn't be looking at a PPC I employed to handle this sort of situation.

We have a real problem with travellers parking on public land down here. The council don't send in their parking attendants to deal with it.

It has been my experience that Thames Valley Police have been reluctant in the past to prosecute wrongdoing by this oppressed ethnic minority.

Now that one of our finest has allegedly been killed by one of them they will be more willing to do so.

    Not true, sadly.

We know this from our time on this forum helping scammed people.
