No bank branch in my town.

I'm banking with Nationwide and since moving areas their isn't a branch in my town, the nearest branch is 20 miles away. I opened a bank account with Yorkshire Bank which had a branch in my town but 6 weeks after opening it they closed the branch so basically I can't deposit cash into any account.
I'm very happy banking with Nationwide. Should I close the Yorkshire Bank account (Now Virgin) and open a Bank account I can psychically go into. Things I like about the YB account is that it's got a really good App and when it fully goes to Virgin they are going to do none commission cash withdrawals and card payments abroad (I'm hoping to travel abroad 5 times this year) I already get this with my NW flex plus account, I do like the idea of having an emergency card when abroad incase I lose my main card.
Its just a pain to put cash into my account traveling 20 miles by bus, which I do probably every 5 months or so apart from that I don't go into branch. I would also be good to be able to take money out my account if I lose my card which again I havent needed to do that... Is it even worth opening a account that has a branch in my town?

Up to you which account(s) you open or keep, but worth bearing in mind that there's a lot to be said for having at least two for resilience, as well as the fact that the majority of banks allow cash transactions via post offices in the (increasing) absence of local branches.0 -

If you still have one or more existing banks in the town then why not open an a/c with one of them? (an extra a/c)
You could then pay money in easily and transfer funds by BACS to any other account. It is easy enough to get money out of pretty much any ATM.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

If you do open another account with one of the banks that have a branch in town, your story could just repeat again when that branch closes.
Stick with the Yorkshire Bank account you opened as cash withdrawals AND deposits can be done at your local post office.
Nationwide only allow post office cash withdrawals and not deposits.
I've always banked at the post office with Co-op (post office access since 1998) and prior to that with Girobank. I put this down to growing up in a village and refusing to pay bus fare to get hold of "my money".
You could also explore if your local credit union allow free cash deposits via PayPoint in a local shop. Some do.0
