Advice needed

Sorry to start a new thread, most of what I need to know is in the stickys so I'll try to be brief.
Basically I stopped in a pub which has a car park which I've used before and had a quick drink and left. 2 months later I was going through some unopened letters (my bad, assumed it was junk) and had two letters from euro car parks and one from the debt collectors. I phoned the pub and they said I should have given the staff my reg number and said I would have to appeal. As it had been two months the appeal window had closed so I just decided to wait it out.
From what I've gathered in the stickys once you go down the ignore road you are basically waiting for a court letter. I was happy to go down this road as I have proof I was a patron so therefore think I would win, however was just wondering if it might be worth phoning them and saying I have proof and hopefully getting the invoice cancelled. I'm reluctant to make contact with them though after reading through some of these threads so any advice would be useful.
To summarise, I think I have 3 choices, wait for the court date (bit of a pain), pay the charge (rather not) or call them and hope for a better resolution.
Thanks.

Never phone a sc@mmer
Sit and wait it out0 -
as above .....
is the pub a local or chain ?
if chain complain to CEO
if local make sure you speak to the manager , and leave bad feedback if he/she will not cancel

I think it is a chain actually, I'll have a look into contacting someone higher up the ladder. Whoever I spoke to was not helpful at all, just got the "nothing to do with us" treatment.
Thanks!0 -

Nope you won't win you've missed the boat, debt collectors are in it for their no win no fee pop at you.
Never phone a PPC they won't help, and you will be showing them they have you hooked for the maximum gain.
The best bet is still a landowner cancellation, and a pub that upsets it's customers in this day and age is on to a loser.
A court case is by no means a definite.0 -
One or more of the big pub chains engaged ECP last year , so probably that chain , complain to their CEO about it0

But just to clarify, we are not saying to pay!Nope you won't win you've missed the boat,
It's choice number one, and ECP rarely try claims re one PCN.I think I have 3 choices, wait for the court date (bit of a pain), pay the charge (rather not) or call them and hope for a better resolution.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for all the replies. I will get in contact with the chain and if I have no luck I will just continue to wait. Cheers.0
