Morning all, same old weather here
.
Most of the tasks I set yesterday were completed, except the meal planning and a shopping list . (That's for today now.) However in my defence m'laud, I did defrost the freezer, a job I had been meaning to do well before Xmas and didn't seem to have my time and energy coincide. Half the carpet has been cleaned and I was ashamed to see the colour of the water....... it was almost black . Today we move the table and do the other half ! I was trying to persuade Mr Fix It to replace it after we decorate and he seems quite happy with that idea :T.
I also have some of my childhood books to go through today before I decide whether to cs or keep for the DGC. I did see a "Z Cars" book among them, I don't think they will ever want that, or the Baby's Own :rotfl:. But they are not having Uncle Remus, that's mine !! Ahhhh! the Tar Baby........ I loved that story, not very PC these days though. So that job will probably take me down memory lane and keep me occupied for an hour or so........ well I have to read through them, don't I
When I sorted the freezer I found some sliced gammon left over from Xmas, so that's tea sorted and we'll have oven chips with it.
Hope everyone has a good day and the workers have an easy one too. Good luck Nelski !
Take care all. Hugs to anyone who is in need.

Good morning all x
Well belle the pooch has been walked and basics done around house. Just got back from docs and now I have to have a steroid injection in my elbow to see if that helps with the pain. Gonna see her again in 4 weeks and if no better she is sending me for test for ms.
Anyhow let's take one day at a time and see where we go.
Wm is done so need to get it on airer.
Dinner tonight is moussaka the low cal version.
Hugs to all in need xBright Blessings xx0 -
Morning all! I seem to have developed the lurgy so all I'll be doing today is sitting on the sofa feeling sorry for myself and drinking copious amounts of tea. OH is off to see a friend for a few hours so will be bringing back suppplies in the form of tablets and cough medicine...
The decs are down and the tree is out, looks so bare now! Which has spurred me on to finish reading the decluttering thread [ 30 pages left!] and have picked up some good tips...
I didn't get round to dyeing the curtains I got off freecycle, so they are hanging around [ but not in the right place], and there is another smaller pair I haven't used so I might just ebay the little ones.
The wood is stacked, OH took an axe to some bits that were just too big so it should all go in the burner now.
Food will be from the freezer, probably sausages and mash because I have a bit of mash left from last night, and some carrots in the fridge needing using. |Will mix the mash with an onion and the bit of spring greens left to make a sort of colcannon.
Go Nelski go! TA, happy shredding! Gers, well done, you are doing so well! nanny, well done on freezer defrosting...can you do mine too please? speky, that made me laugh 'wm'BTDT, oh dear, commiserations to your stair carpet...Hey everyone reading along....[cat]Tarry Tuesday.....

Been for my delayed pacemaker check this morning all OK, back in 12 months. Battery may need changing in 5 -7 years time.
We wanted to do some shopping in a local shopping centre, so did that before we went to the hospital.
Lunch was half a hot sausage roll and half a chicken and mushroom pasty, delicious. Thawing gammon for tonight with a jacket spud and the left over beans from last night.
It has rained and we have a steady wind, so quite cold. Was glad to get home into the warm.0 -
Afternoon all,
Car failed MOT this morning......rear number plate lights not working, so 2 bulbs and a "visual" needed before 6th of next month......my own fault as I never thought to check them.
Sorry that you have succumbed to the lurgy -taff, OH is still not well, back to doctor tomorrow afternoon to see what's happening.
I am chef tonight......spaghetti Bolognese so speedy meal, will start it off in a bit and then relax while it simmers.

Good afternoon everyone :hello:
It's very warm here with the tumble dryer going and the heating on. I'm only wearing a nightshirt and I am sweltering. Everyone else is complaining about being cold though so I shall sneakily turn the heating off when no one is looking.
I had the district nurse here this morning again and she was a bit concerned that I was in such pain with my leg. She made me promise to phone for a same day telephone appointment with my doctors surgery so I did and spoke to a very nice GP. He is arranging for my own GP to come out and see me on Thursday as I am a bit of a complicated case. In a way I am relieved that something may be done now to help me but I am also a bit upset as I was hoping to avoid any more medical intervention for at least a few more months.
I had a letter from my ex best friend this morning apologising and asking me to be her friend again. I have been thinking about her for a little while now and I was wondering how she was doing. I haven't seen her since August and to be honest I have enjoyed the peace. However, I do feel guilty about the way I erased her from my life as we were friends for about 15 years. I shall sleep on it tonight and maybe I will write back and see how things go. It's complicated by the fact she has severe bipolar and isn't always responsible for her actions although it was not fun being at the receiving end of all her drama.
Sorry for the whingey post, I am struggling today as I am just so blinking tired. I hope you all had a better day, take care xx0 -
Sorry to read about lurgies, pain and car woes and hope that everything is fixed soon.
Thanks for the good wishes - I appreciate them all.
Cleaner been and gone and DM fed and watered. Then I read about a new regular saver on the other board so sat down to open it online. These are few and far between just now.
I'm now re-reading the Jackson Lamb series of books and discovered the serialisation of 'The Drop' on Radio 4. Five episodes of 15 minutes each.
It's been so dark outside all day, hardly worth opening blinds and curtains, we have to corrie down and keep going through the winter.0 -
Gentle hugs to lurgy holder taff, good luck trying to keep up with the decluttering thread......... it moves soooo fast  I've had a good day decluttering myself and posted on the thread as it helps me focus !
MeanMarie. shame about your car but I hope it's an easy fix. Hope OH feels better soon or at least gets some answers.
Dumpling I hope your GP can help as I believe you have been suffering with pain in your legs for quite a while. Do not feel guilty about your friend, do what's right for you and yours. Perhaps just keep in touch by letter until your health returns. I hope I haven't spoken out of turn.
Deleted_User good news about your pacemaker.
LWWolf I hope the injection does the trick and it's not ms.
Gers is " corrie down " a local term ? BTW where have you stashed those Xmas chocs ? You know just in case of emergencies:rotfl:.

Yes, it means 'hunker down', 'cosy down' etc. Just hibernating really!
Chocs... are in a cupboard. We're still working through chocolates with a BB date of 2016 which I wouldn't let DM give away this Christmas. I can ignore bloom.
I've just cooked a piece of smoked pork loin which had to be used by today - that'll be a week's worth of lunches.:rotfl:0 -

You haven't spoken out of turn at all, I really appreciate your advice and I think that is the best option for now, thank you xx0
