    That said, I like to think I have a maverick attitude to risk and would have no worries holding firm during a crash, but I don't think that can be said with any conviction until you've lived (survived?) through one...

    I'm considering buying into Berkshire Hathaway Class B shares. They have plenty of cash to take advantage of the next black swan.

    If that's what you are thinking, why don't you keep (some of) the cash and wait for the crash? You can't predict what they will do with their cash, they might unluckily invest them all in shares right before the next crash.
