Your vehicle is SORN or just simply untaxed. You tax your car. How long after taxing your car would you expect https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ to show your car as being taxed?
Caught someone tonight came absolutely zooming up my rear end to the point i thought they were going to start pushing me along. Literally that close. Wondered what the hell was going on so just kept to my speed. The opportunity wasn't there for them to overtake.
I ended up getting behind traffic and they floored it on a solid white line where they were part inside the line in our lane but also in the other lane. They took me and the car ahead of me and nipped in with oncoming traffic flashing them as it was that close it actually made me feel like bracing myself for the impact.
Caught all this on camera and just ran their plate now. MOT expires March this year but it says tax expired October last year. Status is "untaxed", not SORN.
And i read cases of people reporting to the police all the time. Assuming it's not hot air and they actually do, how would you say they report it - submit your memory card in station or likely to be via an email if you can get one from them?

Well that sounds stupid. Put it on youtube and tweet it at them. That way it is out in the open and not ignored.
Not that they will do anything form the sound of it.0 -

Submitting your memory card?

From what the guy did? He drove like a tool, reckless overtaking and potentially has no tax.
I hear plenty of moaning that the police "never do anything" but this isn't always the case. One sure fire way of making sure they'll do nothing is to not bother reporting anything.Shaun_of_the_Dead wrote: »Go onto the forces website for where it happened and see what it say.
Don't suppose you know of it?
EDIT: Found it, they just don't seem to reply much on it.0 -

EDIT: Still, does anyone know how soon the website should be updated after a vehicle is taxed?0 -
The last one we did was taxed on 21 Dec and showed up on the DVLA website on the 24th. The change of keeper updated on Jan 2.0

Ah great stuff. So there's a fair chance that by the end of the week it should say taxed. If it doesn't then it's likely that they're driving around untaxed.
Having a look, the last change of V5C was just a few days before the tax apparently expired. Not sure how coincidental this is.
I also contacted the police. They said to either call 101 or to fill out an online form which they linked me to.0
