Timescales for setting up a DRO

I submitted an application for DRO on 23rd December and I called Stepchange today and they advised they have a backlog and it's going to take 4 to 6 weeks before my application is reviewed.

Just wondered from others experiences is there anywhere such as Payplan or CAB that can set it up quicker?

In hindsight I was going to go the bankrupt route at the start of December, and should have just went straight for a DRO and it would have been done by now, but hey ho

Christmas is always difficult - I work at CAB and it's set me back 2 weeks.

Everyone has backlogs so I can't criticise stepchange for that. If you had a need for urgency, such as being close to 20k or having bailiff action that needed stopping, then I would hope stepchange would bring you forward.

Stepchange have been really helpful when I've had queries, I guessed with Christmas, New Year and reduced staff there'd be a backlog, I thought it might be a couple of weeks at most, hopefully I'll hear something soon
