Universal Credit Claim - Asking For Landlord Details

Hi,
I am in a position where I need to claim UC (which is likely to be very temporary). On the application, it asks for landlord details.
I am a private tenant and do not want my landlord to know that I am claiming as it will be frowned upon. Also, I will not be entitled to help with costs due to the rent being too high.
Does anyone know whether UC will actually contact the landlord? I have tried searching but cannot find the answer.
Annoyingly, if they do then I would be reluctant to claim.
Thanks in advance.

You may be able to claim part of the rent to the value of the local housing allowance reflecting your personal circumstances. To do so, you'll need to provide details of the rental agreement which will have the LL details in it.
They don't need to contact the LL if the agreement looks reasonable/commercial but you cannot deny them the ability to check.Unlike some here, I am not omniscient. If I am wrong correct me. I won't take offence.

I know this is a week old. I was in the same situation.
I gave them the landlords info, but gave them a wrong phone number as I didn't want them contacting her! I gave them the tenancy agreement.
My rent is higher than the allowance, I pay £705/month but I'm only entitled to £107/week as I live in a shared flat, but every little helps.
I don't think they've tried to contact my landlady! They've not asked me for a new phone number!0
