The one I'm going to get from safe.co.uk (quoted in first post) has the keypad included, whether we'll use it or not is a different matter0 -
With the Pyronix, you have the option of keypad, touch fob ( both by touch input on the keypad, or at a remote location say by the front door), app, and remote control fob ( also works as a panic button even when the alarm is off).0

This. A few years back there was a spate of burglaries on an estate I lived on. On my cul-de-sac of 20 houses, two were broken into and they were the only two without alarms - may be a coincidence but seems unlikely.
To that end, so long as you've got an alarm installed it doesn't really matter which system you have.
Alarm and CCTV is probably going to be an even better deterrent.0 -

I don't think there's any value in a system which detects intruders once they're inside. We have an internal sensor system with external bell box, that was in the house when we bought, but from personal experience of our alarm going off, and others amongst neighbours, sounding an external alarm is not worthwhile.
We'd rather see what's going on outside the house, so installed a 3-camera Arlo system to monitor movement on driveway and paths. It's a simple self-install, and when motion is detected, it will alert YOU, directly, via phone and/or e-mail alerts. You can then login and view what triggered the alert, and optionally live view through the cameras.
We had this discussion at work recently, alarm vs cctv. If you are all away from home, 20 or 30 miles away for example, and your cctv is triggered, what can you do? Other than offer the overworked Police an image of some hoody wearing parasite with his face covered and gloves on Creeping around in the darkness in your garden. You’d be lucky for them to even turn up the next day to take a statement, let alone actually investigate anything.
We chose an alarm as an audible deterrent because as soon as it goes off, very few would hang around long enough to get away with anything just in case the neighbors came out0 -

.
We’ve had one false alarm since we had ours fitted about 4 years ago (and we’d left the internal siren at the control panel muted as we’d been testing the sensors a few days before). Alarm triggered in the night but we didn’t hear the external bell box at front of the house alarming, we had 4 neighbours up and knocking on our door with 4 or 5 minutes to check we were ok:o:o
Some areas, neighbours do take notion a burglar alarm0 -
Is there anyone who can vouch for the Yale Sync's reliability? I've read reviews from customers complaining about phone notifications which turned out to be false alarms. Nothing worse than panicking only to find out the alarm was triggered by sun shining through the window.
I'm also aware it doesn't come with cellular backup, so loss of internet means it can only make a loud noise, which is sort of concerning.0 -
i also have yale alarm (diy one), no monthly charge.
sometimes its bit annoying that i get 'jam detected', 'no jam' messages for no reason.
after i purchased yale, ring also launched alarm system. i have ring door bell and am very happy with it. if ring alarm was launched before my purchase i would have bought that. yale seems dead product/company, they don't do any new innovation. ring on the other hand is owned by amazon and you will get future updates and many more smart devices - so would be good to manage all from one app.0
