Good morning and thank you for starting today's thread Nelski.
Redruby, your poor daughter, what a dreadful time she has had. Now she is safe.
Nelski, hope you get the work, fingers crossed for you.
I have things to do but I've got a stuffy nose and earache and as they are not time-critical I may just mess about.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possibleI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Ruby I am so sorry your daughter is going through this. Thank goodness she has got out before it stepped up. Shes lucky to have such an amazing family to escape to. Take care lovely thinking of you xx0

Good morning folks.
Sleep is still an fickle companion these days, I can get onto my left side for a short while which really helps a bit. Back sleeping remains a challenge.
REDRUBY - what a nightmare for your DD. Such an awful turn of events.
This afternoon I've got a check up with my surgeon. My wound has a little heat in it still so I'm hoping it's OK. I can't see it except in a mirror so can't get close enough to check for myself. My session in the pool yesterday was good so I'll repeat it.
The fridge is full. The washing is dry. There's dishes to wash (I still hate washing up) and a bag of recycling to take away. The window cleaner isn't coming today at all, it's next week now. His wife sent me a text last night and added that she'll be coming back to work in early February. :j
Now I wish everyone a very happy Monday.0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Nels and hugs to all those in need.
RR how horrible for your DD.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all! Wood will be here in a minute. OH is still asleep, bad back and cold have scuppered his attendance at todays main event..I'll be stacking the wood today [ very slowly but hey, it'll get done. I sorted the porch out yesterday, moving things around, getting the edge wood ready [to make sure none of it collapses into the porch] and gave it a good sweeping which terrfied a few small spiders and upset the woodlice...where do they come from?
Next on todays agenda is dishes, followed by hoovering [didn't get done yesterday] and maybe going to see a film.
I made the garlic chicken from pinch of nom last night, it was really nice [changed a few things because I didn't have mushrooms] but managed to save the sprouts that I'd forgotten I had.
Christmas decs are coming down today too, so I'll sort them properly before I put them away. The council will collect the tree when the green waste comes around whic is nice, or if I get annoyed with it hanging round, I cn take it to the tip myself.
TA, sorry! I know I was banging on about it a bit, and now I'm intrigued, I'll have to google the strong peg method...Hope you get some sleep tonight! Good luck Nelski, hope it turns out that they realise what they're missing! ruby, well done her for leaving that situation and all your family rallying round. Better out than in definitely! tru, good luck, sorting papers is o boring, the only good side is when you finish or when you find something you thought you'd lost...Gers, hope your wound is OK. Hope the sleepless get smacked by the sleeping stick tonight, hey all reading along, hope you ll have the best day possible...Marvellous Monday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Dull & grey with a wind getting up.DH has gone to work ready for a delivery. I think he's daft, he only started eating properly yesterday but who am I to say yay or nay
Ruby I'm so sorry to hear of DDs troubles. At least they are safe with you - hugs.
I need to sort out the washing & ironing mountain.I've washed loads but still got a backlog and it won't get done sat here.
Hope you are all as well as you can be x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
RR sorry to hear about your daughter, glad she has had the sense to remove herself from the situation. Has it been reported to the police?
Mobile library today, despite taking out 10 books they did not last me the month, had to 'borrow' 3 from OH and even then I had to resort to Borrowbox!! We are going on to friends after we have changed our books, tea and cake time.
Horrid morning, it was still dark after 8am.......so lights on, the wind is now getting up, so its cold too.
Nursery tea tonight, egg, chips and beans. We were too full last night to have the creme brulee, so may have them tonight.0 -
Morning all, it's grey again here. I don't think we've seen any sunshine here for more than 5 mins since Xmas Day. I may have to get my SAD light out.
Well yesterday was awful with Dad, he came with his ar*e in his hand, lied about not going out anywhere and got caught out. He's not such a good a liar as he used to be, then argued his way through the day about all and sundry. Stuff he really knows nothing about ( and we do ) but he forgets we can check up on govt stuff on the t'internet and prove him wrong . What a good start to 2020 and first rant of the year ! ( Pity too as he was lovely over the Xmas period and told us several times how much he appreciated all we did for him)
Anyway we are not going out today as Mr Fix it is under the weather, so the house work offensive will commence ! I want to sort out the spare bedroom cupboard and put the decoration boxes back in there. I still haven't sorted the freezers, so that's down for today too, then make a meal plan and a subsequent shopping list. I am also going to clean the dining room carpet before bedtime..........well half today then move the table over and do the other half tomorrow evening. The DW needs emptying and the worktops wiping down somewhere in between too. That lot should keep me out of mischief for a while :rotfl:.
TBH I haven't even got dressed yetand you lot put me to shame so I must get myself back into housework mode !
Nelski I'm hoping that you will secure the job, you seem one determined lady and I shall keep everything crossed...... even my eyes.
RRuby I hope your DD has been able to catch her breath now, things must have been awful for her, but she and pup are safe with you. I'm sure with the love and guidance from you, your DH and the family, she will be able to put this behind her. Hugs to all.
Speky glad you're back with us and you had a good holiday at home with your family and friends.
Right I must not procrastinate any longer.
Take care all
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
((HUGS)) for you and your DD (and pup) REDRUBY. They are both safe now with you. It's a horrible situation to be in and we went through similar with DD and ex. You have my sympathy x
Well my first neglected job got done. Gadget and appliance cupboard sorted and all the bits and pieces that had been shoved in there out of the way have either now been chucked or found a new home!
After lunch I have promised myself I will make a start clearing under the stairs. I am having a new meter at the end of the month and the chap will be hard pressed to even get in there to do it! There are a lot of toys and games belonging to the DGD's and I'm sure most of them can go without them even noticing! The big bag of shredding in there might even get started on too!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
