Gumtree buyer wants a refund , I need advice

Hi everyone ,
I sold a bicycle on gumtree , it was advertised in working condition and the buyer came and inspected it and even took it a cycle . He bought the bike in cash and didn't even haggle . I met him outside my place of work for convenience .
1 month and a half later I received a phone call at work . It was the guy that bought the bicycle claiming I had miss sold the bicycle and apparently it has malfunctioned in some way ,and he wanted to arrange for a refund . When I said it was over a month ago and sold as seen etc he threatened me with small claims court action.
The guy has phoned my work causing me problems there. ( he must of looked up the phone number as it was the place we met outside) . The original meeting was organised through gumtree messages which he did not use to contact me .
Where do I stand with this ?
The bicycle was sold as seen and he cycled it prior to buying and now it's 40+ days on and he has done this . . . . .
Any help would be appreciated.

Caveat Emptor. Buyer beware. He tried, tested and used for 40 days potentially. Just ignore. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Yep just ignore, if he wants to take you to small claims then let him- a private sale for cash and inspected goods is unlikely to go in favour of the buyer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for the replies so soon . I'll try and get it out my mind . I think with contacting me at work without going through gumtree has caught me by surprise .
I have never had any "come backs" from selling online . I just wanted to make sure I was "safe" as a seller .0 -
He is taking the p*ss.
He inspected it thoroughly, test rode it, and has been happy for over a month.
100% ignore him.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
This, said about a bike, sounds funny unless the bike is electric.Solarpower wrote: »... apparently it has malfunctioned in some way....0
